Right. It was actually discussed in ToG[tm] (aka nksf) since there was a
decently sized discussion about it going on there..several people got
the same 2 emails I got, so..
I hope it stays this way, though, since, indeed, cutting that (or any
other part of the show, including the credits, but I'll live..) is wrong
indeed. But we already said all that before ;-)

Sorry, I don't read ToG[tm], I guess I'm not really a sf/fantasy
kind of person :-).

If nothing else, it is at least a great in-the mood-getter. Kind of
a warmup before the episode starts. And I've gotten used to credits
being cut on all commercial networks. I am actually surprised
everytime I watch a movie or series where the credits have NOT been
cut (like on the BBC, or on Dutch public networks).

But you are a BtVS kind of person? In that case, you should check
the group out just the same. There's a lot of Buffy in it these
days. (There are some who would say it's been a long time since
any "real" science fiction has been discussed there to any
significant degree of percentage of posts, if ever :))

Yep.

Well personally it's been several years now since I watched any
movie on TV. There are just too many things wrong with the
presentation to make it worth my while. Wrong aspect ratio,
what's left of the intended picture further obscured by on-screen
logos and subtitles, commercial breaks in crap places (with
movies, there aren't really any right places to put them), end
credits blatanly omitted. It just isn't the movie any more. I
stick to the cinema and DVD (with the occaisional letterboxed VHS
tape for stuff which isn't yet available on disc, e.g. Star
Wars...)
