I really enjoined this episode. Great acting, fast storytelling,
important new developments (with a little aversion from my part
to the deja-vu), it had me on the edge of the seat, so to speak.
And then it turns out to be a big scam. We've been had!
I don't buy that. Too much like Star Trek with its reset button.
We know David Boreanaz plays and excellent Angelus. But Angel
playing an equally convincing Angelus is a bit of a stretch of
credulity. The script writers can come up with a story about
Angel loosing his soul, on audience at the Mayor's, Buffy
falling victim to Angelus. But can the characters stage the same
run of events in their own reality? I don't think so. The script
writers were being to clever. (Though I had forgotten about the
light switch at about the time the scam was about to be
revealed.)
Still, great entertainment (apart from the soppy epilogue),
promising more fireworks for the rest of the season.
