(Warned you)
Hi Guys and galls,
A few weeks ago I posted a message saying I didn't like the begining of
season 3. Someone told me it would get better. Until now you were partly
right. Allthough I still don't like Faith (I miss Kendra. Couldn't we kill
Buffy or Faith off and get Kendra back? <ducking to avoid all the knives
being thrown, then grimacing when one allmost hits>
Normally I like blondes, but in Kendra's case i am happy to make an
exception. Why all the cute ones. First Jenny Calender <sigh> and then
Kendra <another sigh>
Another part I am not happy about is that about Angel being back. They
should have left him in hell.
But now a question. I tonight's ep. on the dutch net5 they were talking
about a council. have I missed something. When was there ever mention about
that council. What is it, who does it consist off? How do they know a slayer
is being killed. When Buffy was "killed" by the master. How did they know
that and how did they select Kendra. I can't imagine Kendra became slayer
all at once.
Anybody any thoughts?
Btw. don't be turned off by my previous remarks. Despite my remarks in the
beginning of the season, these eps. really are very better. I'm looking
forward to the ep. of next week. But I'll get by it. Tommorrow and the day
after double eps. TNG en DS9 from StarTrek (oops, sorry, off topic, on this
newsgroup) ;-)
Grtnx,

Kendra & Jenny are & were my favs. I really like them. Not seeing Faith yet
is a bit of a handicap but Kendra was great!

Would that be the watchers council? I have only heard a few things about it.
Anyone know anything solid?

Watchers Council. Pretty much always implied but I can't remember if 'Faith,
Hope & Trick' (and I think that must be the one you just saw if Angel came
back at the end) was the first time they were referred to as the Council, it
may have been. Anyway, they've always been part of the backstory, just not
players in the actual episodes.
They don't select the Slayers, they merely find them and train them once the
MFFG (mysterious/magical/mystical force for good as it's referred to over in
alt.tv.buffy) has 'chosen' them. In Kendra's case, her parents recognised
the signs of potential 'Slayerhood' in her at a young age (presumably it's
something that is known about in her culture) and gave her to her Watcher
for training. Thus, Kendra was a known proto-Slayer from a very young age
while Buffy - who wasn't located by the Council 'till she was 15 - was
already The Slayer by the time she was found so had had no training. When
Buffy 'died', Kendra was activated and became The Slayer rather than a
potential Slayer, by whatever force it is that controls these things.
For more about the Council, you'll have to hang on until later in the season
when stuff starts to reveal itself...

Hi Cally,
No, I'm talking about Revelatons. It must have been me, but I never noticed
them.

But how did they know soo soon. In my recollection: Buffy wasn't dead for
long. The time they knew she was revived. There was only the profecy that
she would die.

Very true....I think the council just have a strange way of knowing the instant
a new slayers called. This has never been explained so just put it on the big
"unsolved mysteries" pile......its rather large for buffy <g>
See Ya
