Oh man....

I got my new Buffy tapes from Blackstar and I was going to spread
these last S2 eps out as much as possible but I couldn't and watched
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered *and* Passion. It was calling out
to me.

I loved BBB and remember I had watched it very casually when it was on
tv, before I was truly 'Sired' (by Jonathan as you all know by now).
But of course this time I could really enjoy all the fun and the pain
and confusion. *Excellent* scene was the one with Oz searching
rat-Buffy (what is it with rats in that show...) Priceless :)) And
Cordy came through for Xander in the end in such a big and
heartbreaking way... truly fenomenal.

I stopped the tape and took it from the VCR and although it was
screaming at me I turned around and walked away... but it was pulling
and screaming and pleading, quite pathetic really ;) so I walked back
into the room, poured myself a large Coebergh, pushed the tape back
in, grabbed the Kleenex and let it come.
Although I remembered most of it, it still very much felt like I
watched it for the first time, strange that... I don't remember
breathing, and I actually had to stop the tape at one point (where
Buffy and Giles were sitting outside the factory, crying) because I
couldn't see through the tears anymore. Pathetic isn't it? I am still
so overwhelmed, I feel really weird now and I think I need some
cheering up right about now. Anyone in here?

Oh man....

Yep. It's funny *and* emotional all packed into one. I mean, I really
like the bit where cordy is still wearing the necklace and all. And the
painfull break-up in the bronze. Good stuff. And the rest of the
episode is hilarious of course. Really my fav funny ep (and no matter
how many people say they liked The Zeppo better, I'm sticking with this
one...)

Awwww. Prolly needed that Kleenex as well, huh??

No, no ,no!! It's a *good* thing. Any Buffy fan showing no emotion
during Passion is really no Buffy fan at all! Don't feel ashamed!

I am still

Yep. Allways in here. I *live* here, remember? Its really quiet though.
You still around? Oh and the cheering up part? Just pop in your copy of
Something Blue and let the joy come ;-) Definatly *don't* go through
the becomming pt1 & 2, because you'll die... (not, not literally, but
hey you get my drift). Could also attempt to cheer you up with one of
those Xander like funny dances, but that would get silly real soon.

So. Passion your favorite ep as well now, huh??

Ah yes. Part of the brilliant Monologue. Oh, how I *love* passion.....

See Ya,
George

A clear sign of addiction. This is good, give in to it.

I'm sure there's a script for a horror movie in there somewhere..

A bit late but.... Anyway, join the club! We all get sobby and emotional
when it comes to Passion. Even the tough boys and girls. Joss (well, Ty King
actually) knows how to push our buttons. And the cast nkow how to deliver.
Maybe our irl should contain a group viewing of Passion. Sharing our
emotions through Passion, that should break the ice...

I can't say which one is my favourite funny ep yet. Perhaps "something
blue". I'll have to watch them all again first :)

Yeah... if only I had taped it :(

I thought about it, but decided it would be too much. And there's one
in between that I haven't seen and deserves my full attention.

Dunno yet... it's definitely up there, but Lovers Walk is too. And
Surprise & Innocence. And Some Assembly Required. And Doppelgängland.
And there are still S1 eps I haven't got around to yet!

Yeah, noticed that last night. Ah well.....

<almost chockes> You *don't* tape Buffy?? Why not?

Of course. I mean, Killed by death's in there (nice episode. Added fun
because it *is* after all s2, and I like that season best), then onto
IOHEFY which is actually really good and then onto "Go Fish" which is
really bad. In the way of story, firstly and mostly in the way of
character. Almost every character in theres out of character which is
weird. Still a fun episode because of the cheesiness. Oh, and it *is*
after all in s2. I recently rewatched it [hides] and I think it's not
actually the worst Buffy ep of all time. Beer Bad was worse [hides
again]

Hmmm. Yep, all very good eps (except SAR which is nothing more than a
nice MotW episode. Some nice run-through story lines in there, but the
main story's rubbish imho). Surprise and Innocence are deserving of a
place in anyone's top 5 eps, perhaps indeed even the top spot.
Becomming are eps that deserve that spot again. DGL is a sure fire top5
ep (imho) but when stripped of the willowy goodness it simple doesn't
measure up to the s2 greats. Then of course you have "The
Wish", "Amends" and "Helpless" from s3 which have allways been personal
favs. Especially the Wish deserves a top5 spot. From s1 there's the
underated "Prophecy Girl" which is extremely good as well.
Also "Nightmares" and "Angel" should be considered there. Now s4 has
brought us [thinks hard] "Hush" and "Wild at Heart". But thats really
not even close to good enough to get a place between the aforementioned
eps (all imho of course). Hmmm. Makes one think about the quality of s4
again, doesn't it.....

See Ya,
George
Who *loves* talking about the best eps from the past.....

This is so weird. It just looks like plain English to me. Is it in the way
you pronounce it?

I know... it just never was a habit... It's something I've started
doing very recently. Well, I'm hoping BBC with continue to air S4 so
I'll get another chance.

I'm guessing he means "Why the F*** is George hiding after saying he
re-watched S2? Why would anyone do that?" and possibly "No way! Beer Bad

Is it in the way you pronounce it?"

Where [hides] appears to be a language tag George keeps using, leaving me in
confusion about the origins of the language.

This better?

Oh, c'mon. Sad and dramatic? Like in every show the sad and dramatic
for me has to come from the regular characters. There was no sad and
dramatic where the scoobygang was concerned. Perhaps there was some sad
and dramatic hiding behind the weird Frankenstein rip-off, but even
then Buffy doesn't need to get it's drama from characters that apear
only once. Sometimes that set-up works (Lie to Me springs to mind
here), but mostly it doesn't because you don't have a connection with
these characters. And the "lets rip body parts" brother or the "raised
from the dead" football star did not raise any sympathy with me
whatsoever. SAR, to me at least, was a weird Frankenstein rip-off ep.
Actually one of the eps I'd put on my "worst of Buffy" list with Beer
Bad, Go Fish, Bad Eggs and Ted (because of the ending)...

See Ya,
George
