I tried to send this message (Re: Make money etc.) about six times, until I
*finally* noticed (okay, I'm slow. :))) that the error message said: 'Spam
is not allowed on this server'. Isn't that *great*? I mean, I can *receive*
SPAM, but I can't send it. Well, <g> it's a start)

Anyway...

Yes, hit him! Hit him hard! (Or let's all hide on a moderated mailing list
<hint>)

Seriously, I would love to see this ng mutate into a mailing list with no
spam. Whaddayamean, George, we've had this discussion already? :)))

Errmm......getting a bit to exited there...what should I call you now? andrea?
..anyways <g>

As much as I hate SPAM and as much as I'd like to not see these types of
messages appear, theres not one bit we can do about it. I can get all angry, but
chances are that the person who sent the message won't even see the replies to
it.....

I've allways tried to reply to people who will read this group again (people
selling buffy vids etc) and to people who are out of line, but who I expect to
return to the group. If this particular spammer is in fact reading this, please
be advised that your spam does not work here. No body in this group has any
interest whatsoever in your messages, so please refrain from posting again.

The amount of spam on this group at the moment is (thankfully) limited. Plus the
whole idea of a mailinglist is not what me and xanderx (who's away for a
bit...but a waaaay longer bit than I had expected...) had in mind when we
created this group. The idea is to have a newsgroup for all european fans (I
know kinda limited to the uk and holland atm) with the low barier that a
newsgroup brings. A mailinglist mostly requires you to join a website (like
onelist) and than to join a list to participate, plus theres the fact that in a
mailinglist you have to download all discussions as mail. A newsgroup is a more
free form of discussion and although less controled (which causes the issue of
spam) it's more free and suits more posters who can post and leave at will.

Yup words like yonks should fall into the often used catagory...wonder why they
don't <g>...

See Ya,
George

There was a discussion about SPAM? God, how long have I been away from here?
Or was it that I just didn't pay a blind bit of notice.

"Wooza?" Marc, you seriously need to get 'updated' with 90's words.

I have to completely agree on this with you, George. I subscribe to
loads of mailing lists and I either never read them because there are
too many posts or they are boring because they don't have a lot of
members. In the end I never post myself. On the other hand I do happen
to post in newsgroups (sometimes).

Reggie

P.S. Web bulletin boards are also nice, e.g. the Buffy board at
forums.ugo.com (Slayme/BU).
