what country are you in? If in the US, any yeast you buy in a package
is "dried." Active dried yeast is the most common and will say so on
the package. The other yeast is "Instant Yeast," or "Bread Machine
Yeast," and will also say so on the package. You will not find a
package labeled dried yeast as it doesn't describe the contents fully.
If you are confused, write the names down on a slip of paper before
you go shopping. For more info, look here for info on Fleischmann's
http://tinyurl.com/cvumas
or go here for info on Red Star
http://www.redstaryeast.com/
Be aware that SAF Instant yeast is also a product of Red Star and be
sure to read up on it on their site.
If you follow the above links and read them, they should solve your
confusion
