Like there are:
8 deadly sins
8 mules for sister Sarah
8 brides for 8 brothers

Jan
I have no monoply game, so I can't check but I read in my
enclopedy that there could be two to eight players in monopoly
so I thought there should be eight pieces.
Jan 8 P for the ( X,Y ) in S Points for the ( X,Y ) in

Do the letters have different values in different languages
Are the numbers of each tile diferent in each language?
Yes, It seems so, I do have a scrabble game and the values are
as I stated. I will post the values of the Dutch game, perhaps you
can do the same and add the English values to the Dutch so we
can see where they differ.

For what it's worth, my set (U.S.) has the above 6 as well as a spinning

Nothing in the Nursery Rhyme book about origin or who they
all were. Will try again later when I have more timee,
soory I couldn't help further now. Here is the last verse
of Green Grow The Rushes-O! ( or The Dilly Dally song )
12 for the 12 apostles
11 for the 11 who went to heaven and
10 for the 10 commandments
9 for the 9 bright shiners
8 for the April rainers
7 for the 7 stars in the sky and
6 for the 6 proud walkers
5 for the symbols at your door and
4 for the Gospel makers
3, 3 the rivals
2, 2 the lily white boys

I'm probably wrong: 8 Directions of the Wind. It depends on who counts them I guess.

You'll find that common sense rarely is.

The menorah which is use for the eight day festival of Hanukka
has eight receptacles for oil or candles (one lit the first day,
two the second, etc.). This is a copy of the the seven-branched
golden candelabrum of the Tabernacle, which signified, among
other things, the seven days of creation.

There is an additional receptacle for the candle which is used to light
each of the daily candles. Therefore the Hanukkah menorah actually has
9 receptacles.

I don't the believe the Hanukkah menorah is a copy necessarily, but the
seven branches is correct.
Therefore both types of Menorahs have an odd number of branches as
Bixente suggests.
