Braddles, old chum (even though we've never met): has it occurred to
you that if it wasn't for "science geeks" there'd be no electricity,
no computers and no Internet? In your case that would be a very good
thing, from the rest of Usenet's perspective at least, but it would be
a tad inconvenient for everyone else.

Please feel free to toddle off to some deserted island in the middle
of Lake Superior and live the science-geek-free lifestyle you so
richly deserve.
