of you that do this(God help you, you are much fodder
for those that don't) but one was waiting in the mailbox
for me today...an annual Christmas "what we did all
year" letter. GAG. I usually get around three or
four of them...My favorite is the one from the perfect
family who has astronauts as sons and runway models
as daughters...live on a horse farm..you know the deal.
This would be our card this year...
Still poor.
Dialysis until April then transplant(YAY)
Still poor.
Toilet went.
Washer went.
TV blew up.
New TV.
Still poor.
Ho Fucking Ho HO HO~
I will say the majority we get are the family members with
no children and can afford to have the maid deal with
the appliance breakdowns so they are here there and
everywhere traveling...
sigh......

He had his robe on and lived in an upstairs apartment. While he was
downstairs, the Mormons were upstairs. When they saw his door ajar, but no
one home, they were "kind" enough to close the door. Well, it locked
automatically.... and Taylor was stuck outside in his robe, while these
people tried to preach to him. He was soooooo pissed! (And if you knew his
temper... you'd *almost* feel sorry for the Mormon door knockers)!

witnessing was big a long time ago...I remember my pastor
did the rounds a lot in all neighborhoods and was accepted
by many people as they were lonely and enjoyed the visits..
now you don't hear of that going on...And he never was persuasive,
he ended up counseling problems more than witnessing and
then the people would come to church and it was a gentle
kind of approach but you never see it anymore...funny thing,
my Gan told me two from our local Baptist church came over
the other day..(she loves that stuff).

guess I see it as tradition for me. Joe's aunt does it, and I enjoy her's
because she is a really neat lady and her family is wonderful. Her kids are
all having babies, and she includes pictures. They also bought a new home
this year, which I was glad to read about because I knew to change their
address! I do have "once a year" letter friends. We might talk on the
phone throughout the year, but seeing cards or letters from them at
Christmas is great. If it's a news letter, I enjoy reading what they've
done. Again, many of my friends have small children that are growing like
weeds, and it's nice to know that "Douglas" is enjoying his first year of
highschool.... when I remember the day he was born.
