CNN has the following paragraphs from page
http://www.cnn.com/2000/WORLD/europe/09/21/london.explosion.04/index.html

" LONDON, England -- Police investigating an attack on
the headquarters of Britain's MI6 foreign intelligence service believe
a missile was fired from a rocket launcher at the building in London.

They suspect that a small missile which hit the upper
part of the high-security building late on Wednesday evening was fired
from a distance of between 200 and 500 metres.

Assistant District Commissioner Alan Fry, head of Scotland Yard's
Anti-Terrorist Branch, said the weapon used was known to be in the
hands of certain groups, including dissident Irish republicans.
He said similar weapons had been discovered in finds in both the north
and south of Ireland. "

Now, I am making the supposition that the "missile"/"rocket" that was
fired was a RPG. But doesn't it seem odd that almost exactly one month
after TBaTD was released someone launches a RPG attack on the
headquarters of the Intel arm of a country. On the other hand, I don't
really see who would invade the UK, so I don't think we're going to
see the rest of TBaTD unfold with Russia switched to UK.

Actually I think someone watched to much James Bond "The world is not
enough" before the attack, They must be dumb if they don't think that SIS
will not train all there might on getting them and then the SAS will pay
them a wee visit.

Most likely a couple of bastards from the "Real IRA"....a group
responsible for much grief of late. These idiots will not persist and
the SAS and SBS folks will see to it. They may have been me adverseries
in the past, but I hold high respect for their (SAS and SBS)
capabilities. Me own personal desire is tae see all the renegade
bastards (Real IRA, Continuity IRA, et al) swept up and either
imprisioned, executed or some such to rid us of these vermin.

But will they? Or will politics get in the way?

That's the problem with revolution. Not all the revolutionaries can
agree on who is truly revolutionary.

Monty Python had a great bit years ago......revolutionaries have just
formed a new committee....first item on the agenda is
the "split"....IIRC was in "The Life of Brian"....an almost painfully
accurate portrait of a splinter group in Ireland.

Yes, that popped to mind when I was writing the above.

Brian: Excuse me. Are you the Judean People's Front?
Reg: F*ck off! We're the People's Front of Judea

Of course, every movement starts with a splinter group!
