I just finished reading Rainbow six and I have to say that I was totaly blown
away and I hope that you can make a movie about it. I want to say that you are
awsome and that I really enjoy reading your book. I also have some
suggesttions as who can play some of the characters. John Clark-Harrison Ford,

Domingo Chavez-Lou Diamond Phillips. I have not come up woth anyone else but
when I do i will let you know.

You just read the movie script.

Read anything else? Hope so. Then, R6 will pale in comparison. Decent in
its own right, but below the admittedly high standard.

-averts stroke- The next person who suggests that Harrison Ford should act
in any Tom Clancy-based movie will . . . never mind. Ford as Clark? Give
me a freaking break.

LDP is the obvious choice . . . not bad, but I prefer some unknown.

The domain probably explains it all . . . (sorry to all the sensible AOLers
out there).

Good one. Although I enjoyed the book, it was pretty obvious
that it was written with a definite movie intended.

LOL! Ford as *anyone* else besides Ryan would be a total
joke. Why not just substitute Clark's character with that of Jack
Ryan, and then you could use Ford no problem. ;) "Not only is he the
POTUS, but he is also the leader of an international covert
anti-terrorist group." Now there's a movie, folks! BTW, while we're
at it, I think Ford should play Clark's girlfriend when they make the
film for No Remorse...

That would work, although isn't LDP a little old for the role?

Why not just use the same guy from CaPD?

YEAH. RIGHT. I have some more suggestions to Jack Ryan-movies:

Will Smith as Jack Ryan
Arnold Scwarzenegger as Kate Ryan

Tom Hanks as John Clark, and yeah
why not Maculay Culkin (Home Alone) as Ding chavez?

Go somewhere else with your toughts, stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got to agree with you on your suggestion for Domingo, but Harrison
Ford should
remain as Jack Ryan. I wish Lou Diamond Phillips would have played Chavez
in
Clear and Present Danger. Wasn't impressed with the actor who played John
Clark but his name escapes me.

Only one slight problem with Harrison Ford as Clark......HE PLAYS JACK
RYAN..and as far as I was aware he still has one outstanding film deal as
Jack Ryan... Clark could be played by somebody more like Bruce Willis or why
not just let the same actor from Clear and Present Danger carry on in the
Clark role...(Looks embarrassed as I've forgotten his name)

Alternative to Lou Diamond Phillips as Chavez...Emilio Estevez

That would be Willem Dafoe.

Normally a good actor, but this part was not him at all.

Clark was played by Willem Dafoe in the CAPD film. Dafoe is not a bad actor
(he was excellent as Caravaggio in THE ENGLISH PATIENT), but he should never
have been cast as Clark.

Both are bad choices, in my opinion. You need someone who can do it
more low key. Maybe Ed Harris wouldn't be bad.

Bravo for Ed Harris
He was great in "The Rock"
much better than Wm. Dafoe

I've always thought Robert Urich(Spencer for Hire) would be a good Jack
Clark/John Kelly. The Domingo Chavez character escapes me though. Harrison
Ford is NOT an Jack Clark type sorry to say.

Just my 2 cents..

Urich!?!?!?!?!?!? Sure, for the as yet unwritten tale/movie of
Clark/Kelly on Social Security.

I would like to refer you to page 34 of the Hard Cover version of R6. Clark is
closing in on 60 years old. Willam DaFoe did not play a convincing Clark in Clear
and Present Danger.

*I* am closing in on 60. I stand by my opinion of Uretch^H^H^H^Hich. As
to Dafoe, I for one don't blame a capable actor playing a role, as
written, for the obscene liberties the screenwriters took with the book,
particularly vis-a-vis Clark.

Speaking of the damage Hollywood usually does to a book, I heard
a great one liner the other day. Tom Wolfe was on a talk show
promoting his new novel, "A Man in Full." He was asked what he
had thought of the job Hollywood had done with his earlier novel,
"Bonfire of the Vanities." Wolfe allowed that he had not thought
much of Hollywood's job with his book but had said nothing at the
time, "Because I had already cashed the check."
