I just read on Terry's website that WFR will be made into a mini-series by
Sam Raimie (Spiderman, Spiderman II, etc). As soon as Spiderman III is in
the can, Sam and Terry will begin work on the first installment of the Sword
of Truth. From the sounds of it, there will be one made for each book.
This will be sweet!!!!

Chances of the whole series being done are slim at best.

How good it is will depend *very* heavily on who writes the actual
screenplays, and how much actual screen time each book gets. Bear in
mind that Dune is a shorter book, but required in the region of 5 hours
to do properly as a mini-series. Or the BBC version of Pride &
Predjudice, which was getting on for 6 hours long.

Any indication of which company is financing it?

Lots of speculation on The Journey Book forums. Most want HBO, but SciFi
would be a better fit. Better yet might be a straight to DVD release.

Since Sam Raimy (sp?) is going to be directing it, I doubt if it would be a
straight to DVD, although that would be great! I hope it is aired on one of
the non-premium cable channels

i thought so too until I saw it on Nov 1'st
just like all the great books, they butchered the conversion to TV, at
least in the first !. hope the directing gets better and they don't
wander much further away from the book.
