hello,
when the stand first came out in paperback, years and years ago,
i noticed at the end of my copy was a notice stating: soon to be made
into a major motion picture!
now, on the inside of the back cover was a picture from the movie-- a
group of people standing in the street( if i remember correctly) armed
and dangerous looking.
obviously, this was not from the mini-series we know and love.
anybody know anything about this?
it would be great if we could get a hold of a work print or some thing.
you may e-mail if you wish
thanks
mgr

can anyone tell me what Storm of the Century is about? I don't recall
any book or short story written by Stephen King with this title.

There was no book or short story. King wrote it as a made-for-TV miniseries.
The screenplay was published earlier this year at the same time the
miniseries aired. It's about events that take place on Little Tall Island
(Dolores Claiborne) when a mysterious stranger comes to town with a
harrowing request of the townspeople, who are dealing with an incredible
snow storm.

A hardcover edition of the screenplay was published by the Book-of-the-Month
Club.

Go buy the screenplay at the bookstore. Notice the difference with the
basketball. (no bloody imprints as it bounces. Sucks they took it out. It
gave me the creeps when I read it.)
