My only disappointment was that I missed the scene where Stu Redman
meets Jim Morrison. Could anyone tell me where this scene occurs? A
page number would be great (even an approximate, I'm sure I could find
it) or does anyone recall where the scene took place in the story.
Apparently, the encounter is told to Fran. Is it before they get
together or after? Is it before they reach Nebraska or is it in the
long sequence in the Free Zone but before they make the stand. Or is
it after Stu Redman comes back alive at the end?
I know I'm grasping at straws but if anyone could help me out please
do.
the scene occurs when they are in the Free Zone, just after the power has
been restored and Stu chairs the first big meeting. I have now gone in and
checked, yoou should find the section around page 940 in the paperback.
Cool, my first visit and I've actually contributed something useful!
Yes I've found it, page number was the same in my hardback copy too,
thank you very much

Wasn't The Kid a great character? [Kennedy, of course, will disagree.]
I only wish SK would have found some way to make The Kid figure more
into the plot. He appeared and then croaked off way too early -- he and
Trash shoulda hit Vegas together, maybe actually tried to carry out The
Kid's idea of killing Flagg and taking his place...I see something a lot
worse than crucifixion or drawing and quartering in Flagg's response to
that.

I kind of like that The Kid was merely a temporary character. Trash's
journey gets defined by his encounters, like in Canterbury Tales.

I'm reading the uncut The Stand right now. The Kid was a "funny"
character for sure. Was The Kid in the original The Stand? I've read it
but I can't remember.
Jojje
IIRC, he only appeared in the original version as a wolf-gnawed corpse.
