I think that I read on the book 'On Writing', that Stephen King used to
write his book to the tunes of AC/DC and Metallica. Have you read any other
article in which Stephen King lists his favorite bands?

Thanks

I recall an article in Fangoria magazine from the late 80's on the
making of the film adaptation of Pet Sematary. King revealed he blasts
hard rock music when he writes (AC/DC, Metallica, The Ramones..."The
speakers bleed when I put Anthrax on").

He also discusses favorite bands and his radio station WZON in the book
"Bare Bones: Conversations on Terror with Stephen King."

Of course, one can assume King digs a band or performer when he
includes a song line at the beginning of one of his books (or one of
the chapters). Examples: Line from "Snake Oil" by Steve Earle at the
start of Needful Things; Rainmakers lyrics in The Tommyknockers; verses
of Bruce Springsteen and Blue Oyster Cult at the beginning of The
Stand.

WZON is the AM station -- WKIT is the FM Rock Station.

You can listen to it here:

It is interesting that a lot of songs from some heavy metal bands have found
inspiration in King's Novels (Apt Pupil, The Stand and others).
