I have never had problems with Yahoo emails until I updated my anti virus on my HP desktop (windows). Yahoo will let me attach documents from my desktop and send them, but it will not let me preview them before sending them off. It is the same when I receive emails. I have to download the attachment before looking at it, isntead of just previewing it and decide whether I need it or not. It is very frustrating. I have updated my chrome browser, tried another browser, took my anti virus off and fire wall off, restarted my desktop. Basically all the advice I have read on google. The only thing I did not wish to try was deleting an extension in Chrome "McAfee webadviser", which manages my downloads. When I go to preview a word document I have attachment to an email for example, it says "we are having trouble previewing this file" and I have to actually download it onto my computer to view it which I do not need to do as it is already on my computer.Sometimes I like to just click on an attachment in the yahoo app to check I have added the correct attachment as i own my own business.
We understand that you're not able to attach files while using the Yahoo webmail site with Safari. Does this happen when using the Mail app too, or do you only use webmail? You may also consider clearing your browsing history to see if something in the history is causing this to happen: Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac

Hi. I've searched on this forum and it looks like many people are having trouble accessing certain pages. For me, the only page that I've found is blocked is when I try to open a yahoo email attachment. I use Firefox. When I click to open the attachment I get a white screen. I've disabled my antiphishing, all of my parental control is disabled, I've added yahoo mail to the white list.
I've also enabled my cookies and scripts but this sent a flood of bitdefender popups on my screen, asking to add or deny this cookie. I added, then refreshed my yahoo mail and the page was jumbled and "not normal". As it didn't seem to work and I couldn't see my yahoo page the way it should, I disabled both cookies and scripts again.
I've written bitdefender tech support twice and after a week of no response I'm here. Does anyone else have this problem-with yahoo mail attachments? Other people have mentioned problems with youtube, or other sites. Youtube works fine for me, and this is the only problem I've found...but its a huge problem if I can't open attachments in my email.
That will fix the issue. " /> Just remember that now you may be exposed to a virus being downloaded via your yahoo attachments. In other words only open files that you are expecting. Not all the junk forwarded by most people.
I just called Tech Support and they were able to fix the problem. It ends up that it I had cookies enabled in my "privacy" settings. After I went to default settings (not sure why it wasn't in default to begin with), I was able to get attachments. I just thought you would like to know. Thanks for you help. All is back to normal here.
I think i have resolved the issue but i need others to confirm. I am using the new Yahoo Mail Beta and not the Classic. I was able to download the attachments from the Classic e-mail after i set the option Scan Yahoo Messenger Traffic to off.
I also face the problem of BD 2009 (also with 2008) refusing to download Yahoo Mail attachments. But the very same attachments download without any problem in Internet Explorer in the same PC. This proves that there is nothing wrong with Firefox. It is BD's problem with Firefox. And John is right in saying that it is meaningless to disable BD antivirus and remain totally vulnerable to be able to download attachments. I contacted BD's support team and they said they will fix the problem in the 3rd week of November, 2008, through BD's automatic update. I am using BD for 3 years now, and its support team is very good. Hope they will fix the problem soon.
You see there is a option in the settings that says "Scan only new and changed files". This means that you can download older files from yahoo emails which gave me the wrong impressionthat all was working when if fact it is not.
I had a client with this same problem when using the Ureach.com online fax service on his computer that has Bitdefender Antivirus 2009 installed. He was unable to download pdf fax attachments. When he clicked on the pdf attachment link to download the pdf attachment, the Windows "open or save" dialog box would display and just hang forever. When I unchecked and disabled Bitdefender Antivirus 2009 real time protection option, he was able to immediately download, open or save the pdf file. I would then reactivate BD real time protection, and again I was unable to download the pdf file.
I have firefox 5.0. Yahoo just upgrade there email this week. I am not able to view any attachment/pictures in the messages I received, but I am able to view them in IE 8 and Chrome 12.0.742.112. I have deleted cache and add ons, but it hasn't fixed the problem. How do I resolve this?
Hi Lingall,I found that i had to go to Firefox "options" and enable third party cookies, keep until they expire. FF5 now shows images in yahoo mail. Perhaps it will work for you? Not happy about third party cookies but my other addons, no script and ghostery take care of me.
Since upgrading to new yahoo mail i also have this problem in FF5, have tested and tried all help topics, used ff safe mode, cleared cache, set image permissions etc. No problem with blurry fonts. No problem with video attachments, just jpeg type images.Dell laptop Vista home premium, 3 gigs RAM, clean fast machine.
I went through all of Goldhound suggested but I still cannot attach anything when using my Yahoo Email via Fox (on I.E., I am able to attach things). This problem just occurred today when I accepted the new updated version of Yahoo. (I already had enable Third Parties checked, and I deleted the files in my cache. Help!
I have figured out how to save files from yahoo mail. First open email then right click it and select view image, then go to file and SAVE PAGE AS and it saves the photo. This is what worked for me, yes I hate the new and improved yahoo mail as well.
Basic download function for firefox still works (I can download things), it used to work for yahoo mail attachments, but now for last 2 days I cant download any attachments from yahoo mail (used to have no problems with yahoo mail). If I go back to IE I can download yahoo mail attachments. Havent added any new programs etc so dont know why it just started hating yahoo mail.
I changed to basic mail, and found that I could now download my attachment. After downloading and saving it, I clicked the link above my email list - something like "switch to the new, full-featured yahoo mail". Once that switched, everything was back to normal, and I can now download attachments in the full-featured version of yahoo.
I have had the same problem with Firefox/Yahoo!Mail too. Suddenly I couldn't download attachments in received e-mails. I could download Yahoo!Mail attachments with Internet Explorer but not Firefox. So I moved the Yahoo!Mail URL from IE to Firefox, and attachment downloads worked again.
My Aim is to get the event dates enter code here be imported to the calendar automatically and should be able to send response to my service by clicking ( yes, no , maybe if gmail) Accept , decline, tentative.
Hotmail (Windows Live Hotmail as of 2011) does really manage iCalendar events as a champ. As I am a new to Hotmail, I can't say how long it has been working like this. But Windows Live Hotmail Calendar is my favorite Webmail Calendar, compared to other free Webmail services available here in France.
Mail servers do not look inside attachments, just pass them on as lumps. So the fact that your upload was a SU file is irrelevant unless you are also using a web-based email client that tries to display all attachments. Even then, it should show it as an unrecognized file type and let you download it, not refuse to process it.
It seems more likely that Gully is right and you have exceeded the size limit for Yahoo email attachments - though it would have been nice if they gave you a clearer message. In any case, you should contact Yahoo to clarify the problem; again, it has nothing specific to do with SketchUp.
Email is an enormously convenient communication tool, letting you quickly and easily keep in touch with anyone in the world as long that person has Internet access. Many emails messages only contain text, but many others include attachments that can let you access additional files. If you use Yahoo for your email account, you can open attachments easily, and Yahoo will even scan attachments for you to check for viruses or potential threats to your system. Unless you're opening a large attachment, you can usually access the attachment within a matter of seconds.
An attachment to an email message is any file sent with the message outside of the body of the email, meaning the message's text and possibly graphics within it, like a background or image of a signature. The attached file could be a picture, movie, audio clip, PDF or any other type of file. Since the attachment isn't part of the message itself, you can't view or hear the file when you first open the message, even though you can view the message's text immediately. Depending on the attachment type and which program you use to check your email, you may be able to download and view the attachment within the program or you may need to download it and view it in another program.
To open an attachment in your account, you just need to open the message and then click on the attachment icon next to the email's message. The icon is a paperclip at the top of the message, and next to it is the number of attachments in the email. Yahoo will scan the attachments for viruses, and if the attachments appear trustworthy, a notification will appear that Yahoo found no viruses and you can click the "Continue" button. A prompt will appear; depending on your Web browser, it will either ask you if you want to open the file or save it, or it will ask you where you want to save the file without the option to open it directly. If you do choose the option to open the file, it will download and display without saving permanently to your computer. If you download the file to your hard drive, you'll be able to choose the location for the download in a window that appears; after the download completes you can open the attachment by double-clicking the file.
