I have an iphone X running IOS 11.2.6. I use both yahoo and gmail. For Yahoo mail, my new mail notification sound is stuck on Tri-tone. I have tried to change the sound by going to "Sounds & Haptics" - "New Mail" and selecting a different alert tone and still I get the Tri-tone notification. I went to "Notifications" - "Mail" -"Sounds" and selected another alert tone. Still get the Tri-tone when new mail arrives. If I go to "Settings" - "Yahoo Mail", the only option I have is to turn the notification sound on or off. Gmail has a similar issue. The sound notification is different but I see no where to change the Gmail notification sound.


I scrolled down the list and unchecked the box 'play sound for notifications' for each browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). That didn't work either. I still hear a 'you've got mail' message over my laptop speakers.

I have been trying to put a new mail notification sound on my computer Windows 10, i.e. "Youv'e got some mail" on Sky mail. I have a second email server, Mozilla Thunderbird, and I can play this tune with it. Yahoo sky mail is the one that I use, but I cannot get it to play any new mail notification sound at all. I just upgraded from a 7 Edge to an S20. I used to be able to assign different sounds to different apps so I could differentiate between notifications without having to look at my phone. I cannot figure out how to do it on the S20. I cannot stand having the same sound for every single notification. Anyone know how to change this? Thanks.


my problem is that its the same standard Samsung notification on all of my apps and i went in the notification settings and i cant find the normal app sound i can just select the standard Samsung sounds/bits


Hi didn't read everything on here so don't know if you found a solution. It will be because you used smart switch its sets them to the Samsung sound automatically. If you uninstall the individual apps that you want the apps own sonds on and then reinstall them it will default back to the apps own notification sounds
