Other way around. March 5th in the UK, 31st in the US.

Thanks, I was going to avoid this NG otherwise - I hate reading
spoilers for books ;-)
One day...
This a trick question?
Because Murphy runs your life, too?
Best, R.E.F.
Those are just FP's signings. I don't have the full list yet, but I'll
post it here with I do. I know, for example, I'm in Manchester on the
10th in the evening at Deansgate (which I think is a Waterstone's), and
they'll be a couple of others, as well. I was supposed to get the list
on Friday, but no joy. Monday, perhaps.
Murphy and me are old friends (or should that be enemies?) So far this
year we've had to miss out on two exhibitions thanks to work
commitments and it's only February ;-)
UK, Scotland, and Ireland only this trip.
Haven't done anything in Germany for about ten years; it's just not
financially feasible for me to do most of Western Europe, especially in
this economy.
Anyway, you can always get dates and times at www.crydee.com.

You're half right. UK contains England and Scotland, but the Republic
of Ireland (where I'm heading) is a sovereign nation.
I'll put up the tour dates tomorrow.
Best, r.E.F.
I've tried talking my sister in law into attending the Nottingham
event on my behalf, not sure how persuasive I was. Let's hope one of
the dates matches my time off ;-)
Here's what I have, and at this late date probably won't change. You
can Google the stores for specifics. Some of them sell tickets, the
price of which counts against buying the book.
9th 6:30 Nottingham Watersones
10th 1-2 Birmingham Forbidden Planet
7 pm Manchester WS Deansgate
11th 6:30 Edinburgh WS East End
12th 1-2 Bristol FP
6:30 London FP
13th is all industry stuff no public venues
14th Dublin 1 pm Easons (O'Connell Street)
Best, R.E.F.
We're working on that....

Actually, if what they said when they introduced Gordon Brown to
Congress yesterday is accurate, it's not considered part of the UK, but
in addition to it. The intro was, "The Right Honorable Gordon Brown,
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland." Not saying
the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives couldn't be wrong,
but he hardly is. I believe originally "United Kingdom" was just
England and Scotland. Later "Great Britain" came to mean the UK plus
Wales, Cornwall, and Devon, in other words the Brits finally let the
Celts have a seat at the table. Of course, it still helps politically
if you're from the Home Counties . . . <g>

See you there!
Best, R.E.F.
When I was a kid, my grandmother used to carry on all the time about the
"fucking English", which is about as eloquent as she ever got really. Then
again, she sometimes referred to her second husband as "that fucking wop",
which might have been understandable, had they ever divorced. So it seems
she had a very limited vocabulary, but she got her point across, usually,
and was quite serious about it. She also cheated at cards.
Very dynamic and versatile woman, my grandmother was.
It's funny how many people come to work in England yet complain about
the country at the same time. An easy solution, erect a proper border,
then if anyone from Scotland wants to work in England they'll have to
have a full passport and all the relevant paperwork to allow them to
work for a short period in the country (it will of course work the
other way around if anyone wants to work in Scotland from England).
On the subject of Scottish oil & gas, "in the 60’s the maritime border
was moved, in contravention of international maritime law, to extend
along a line of longtitude instead of being an extension of the land
border. The English were not asked if they were happy to cede their
waters to Scotland and lose the oil and gas fields contained therein."
Just finished a well written and enjoyable book ;-)
Glad you enjoyed it.
That one and the one after were particularly difficult to write.
But the whole point to my post was to make a humorous little thing, that
would make people laugh. I hate when things like that turn into grotesque
mockeries of political debates, as they always seem to do on Usenet.
