What is the other form that this book will be available in? Are they
going to reprint the original series again, especially the harder to
find last few books? Will there be more books after #40?

Trixie Belden #40, THE MYSTERY AT MANSION HOUSE

Several copies of this elusive title have recently been made available for
sale.

This book is a xerox copy of an unpublished, unauthorized, full-length Trixie
Belden mystery novel that meets and surpasses the standards set by the rest of
the series. It is bound in format and size to match the Trixie paperbacks and
has an illustrated cover.

$25 ppd.

Does Melanie Knight know her book is being sold? She told me she wrote it purely
for her own amusement and made copies available to her friends at cost. She may
have changed her mind since then, but she hasn't mentioned it to me. Is this the
case?

Trixie Belden #40 is a xerox copy of an unpublished manuscript, bound to match
the Trixie paperbacks, including cover illustration and dedication supplied by
author. Book was printed by agreement with author who claims to have permission
by the trademark owners to have the manuscript printed.

It is soon to be made available in another form. Several copies of this
edition have been made available for those who want it in the format that
matches the other Trixie paperbacks.

These are copies I paid for and am reselling. The author is surely finishing up
her new tome about Trixie and other schoolgirl sleuths which is also supposed
to contain the manuscript.

I don't know much about the new book other than it's about Trixie and some
other schoolgirl sleuths and is supposed to contain the manuscript for Mansion
House. Rumors have been around for a while that the author has signed a
multi-book deal with the Trixie people. She claims to have several other
Trixies written and asked the producer of Mansion House to print them for her.
Then, she suddenly changed her mind. It has also been talked about for a long
time that Western is going to republish the Trixies, but no one seems to know
if it's true or not.

Mike, Yvette, and everyone.

Melanie's new book "Schoolgirl Shamuses, Inc." was due last July, but
I've been kind of too busy lately to finish up the editing. However, I
think it's just about ready to go (as soon as I can convince MK to
clarify a couple of things). It does NOT contain the manuscript for
"Mansion House", although it does contain a reproduction of Jesse's cover art
and a few notes about the text.

(The book is about Trixie, Meg, Ginny, and Robin. Another 600 pager,
similar in style to Judy Bolton Country)

Thanks for the news. The buzz out there is that it contains both #40 and #42
THE MYSTERY IN MEXICO. I guess she hasn't written #41 yet. Maybe there is
another project going.
