I just finished "The Secret of the Undersea Bell" by John Scott Douglass. Great
book! It has the feel of a series book even though it wasn't. I had not read it
since I was a kid.

I am also re-reading Smuggler's Reef and I am reading "The Real Book About
Stars" and "The Real Book About Space Travel", all three by Hal Goodwin.

Now that's a terrific book. A friend and I figured out years ago it was written
by the Epsteins, not Goodwin. It's more like a Ken Holt than a Rick Brant, and
anyone who's read Rick over and over should know the style of writing is
totally different from the other books.

Goodwin and the Epsteins were pretty chummy and I still think he farmed that
book out to them. For an old review of it with this slant, check out:

I *finally* finished "The Curious Coronation" and with some sense
of trepidation began "Mountain-Peak Mystery". To my intense relief,
this book is actually pretty good, at least through the first 50
pages.
