From New York Newsday, Sept. 22, 1993:

New Foundation: Woody Allen went to Brooklyn's PS 99 -- but even if they wanted
to, school officials couldn't name the place after him. School board rules say
schools cannot be named after the still-living. So over the summer, local
school authorities named the Midwood School after prolific science-fiction
writer Isaac Asimov, who died last year. Asimov didn't go there, but the
principal thought since he worked hard enough to write 450 books in his
lifetime, he'd make a good role model.

and...
while science is pretty sure that the sun will rise in the east tomorrow,
we're not quite so sure it'll be shining.... (i.e. where are the neutrinos?)

I just communicated this to the biggest Asimov fan I know, Dr. Barry
Gehm, and he suggested this slogan:

P.S. 99-- Home of the Fighting Polymaths
