The published order. The best books are the ones written early in the
series. I think with the later books, Fraser lost some interest in
them.

Second on the published order. Besides the reason above, as you know
from reading the first two volumes Flashman sprinkles tantalizing
references to other events in his life through out his memoirs.
It is much more satisfying to be tantalized first.

Of course, I may be prejudiced since I had no choice, except for the
first few volumes, but to read in published order.

Thanks for replies.
I've just started reading Vol3 and it mentions the Bismark/Montez affair from
Vol2 in the first few pages, so published order it is.
Now if I can only get Malcolm McDowell's face out of my mind when reading.
