Off to Whitby, North Yorkshire. England for a few days. This is 'Dracula
Country', Apparantly, Bram Stoker
wrote 'Dracula' with views of this town in mind. See for yourself.

I've never been to Whitby, but for the last couple of years it's one of the
places I've wanted to visit. Tim and I were going to go because it's his
favourite place, but we never got round to it.

You must go there Sue, as a writer I'm sure you will see so much to inspire
you, Parts of the place
are so old ( and creepy) There are places where you could imagine a drunken
man being shang-hied <sp>
and taken to the harbour. The history of this town goes way back.
.
I just love the place. We go there for a short break nearly every year.

So, Rosie - what do you do for a whole week in an ancient town by the

Gayle, this is a magical place, when you are walking around carrying garlic
and wooden stakes, lots of
overseas visitors stop and speak to you. Joking aside, the town itself has
such character, to sit outside
of the old taverns having lunch overlooking the harbour is delightful. The
surrounding countyside takes your
breath away and the sea views are spectacular. Every year that we visit we
meet new people from all over
the world, last year Austrailians, this year Japanese.Should tell you
something!

Rosie, rural counties here in North Carolina tend to have one and only
one hospital, which typically bears the name of the county. Brevard is
in Transylvania County.

Our granddaughter is 11 and we have 2 grandsons and a granddaughter and
they all are 8. They are our youngest.
The hospital is in Transylvania County and was created from 2 Latin words
Trans
meaning across and sylva meaning woods. The county is famed because it is
in
the Pisgah National Forest.
