I just finished reading "Seize the Night," and I'm rereading
"Midnight"--primarily because I'm going through acute Koontz withdrawal
while waiting for the 3rd installation in the Snow Trilogy.

Have you noticed the similarities between Midnight & the Snow Trilogy? Fear
Nothing & Seize the Night are set in Moonlight Bay. Midnight is in
Moonlight Cove. The people of Moonlight Bay are "becoming," often getting
in touch with their inner beast. The people of Moonlight Cove are "losing
touch with their deepest emotions...surrendering to their wildest urges"
and running around on all fours.

I'm having a great time combining the stories in my mind, imagining that
some of the Wyvern abbs are in the advanced stages of "becoming" and are,
indeed, the loping creeps in Midnight.

And did you notice in "Fear Nothing" that our beloved Mr. Koontz made a
reference to Einstein from "Watchers"--mentioning the success of the
Francis Project at Banodyne in creating an intelligent dog. (My heart
leapt!)

And remember the underground movement of people running from the government
in "Sole Survivor" and "Dark Rivers of the Heart"--the people who rely on a
mysterious character named Rose and hide out in the sub-basements of
restaurants? (Does Koontz pattern these restaurants after Zovs? Were those
books intended to go together?)

Could Koontz be planning to tie several other novels together? Will his
third book in the Snow Trilogy bring in the dog from Watchers, Rose et al.
from the restaurant basements of Sole Survivor & Dark Rivers of the Heart,
Chrissie & Sam Booker from Midnight....all to thwart those bastards at
Wyvern? I hope so. Wouldn't that be cool?

Hi everyone and Jeff,

Personally i do think it would be cool, but i don't think it will happen. I
think in dean's case (now, this is just my mind turning) he has written so many
books that are similar, so when you write new ones you just happen to bring in
aspects of other books. See, what im trying to say is, for example, let's take
the restaurant. He is writing about a restaurant in his books, so of course he
is going to write about something he knows. Which is maybe a restaurant he
goes to in real life. (Zovs.) Writers write about what they know, so there
would be similarities. I hope im making sense.

As for Midnight, I read Midnight just before Seize the Night came out so i
found it confusing with hte Moonlight Bay and Cove thing from Fear Nothing. I
like the Snow series, but did not care for Midnight. It was just not
interesting to me, even though i did see where it was like the Snow series.

Just my opinion, sorry for my not making sense,

I must agree with Tami. DK has written a lot of books (and those are just
the ones that we know about and can get ahold of). For any of you who have
read many of his books back to back (perhaps waiting for the next release),
I'm sure you've noticed that while he may not always duplicate setting names
and restaurant characteristics, his characters are usually very similiar, as
are some of his storylines. This just results from the fact that Dean Koontz
wrote all of Dean Koontz's books. That's why we read them, because we like
him.

Good points, you guys, but hey, this is Koontz we're talking about
here. Can't rule out any possibility!
Remember in part 3 of Mr. Murder, where he starts off with a quote
by Laura Shane (after the almost obligatory quote from The Book of
Counted Sorrows)? Shane, Shane, Laura Shane. Where have I heard that
name before . . .

Who knows what Dean will do?

Ben
