I got utterly sick to death of the endless metaphors and surfer lingo in
STN.

Hmm....Stranges....I actually don't know what to think
about this book??!! Bad/good?!
Well, I like the way Koontz does play with words, and
indeed he did it this time. It's in a different way as usual...not?
I think, I liked the written word very much. But then again....
I thought, the in-depth explanation of some words ( you're
calling it sufer lingo, I think) was just TO MUCH...
I got very annoyed by it.
I don't have a problem with the fact that the story takes place
over few days...not at all. I think, Koontz did a great job here,
but the story didn't really hook me, and then again..I finished it
in two days or so...

I thought a lot about those monkeys, not because, I thought, it

No.. I can't even really explan, what I'm thinking

<Gggg...> I feel speakless..not good, you know *lol*
Well, I didn't like or dislike FN..
Maybe I've to re-read it, when I get hold on STN
(it'll be out 20. this month_ yeah..I know, we are way back).

Monkeys are a very common subject in scientific experiments. Esp Rhesus
monkeys whch are very close to humans in behavior, physiology and mental
attitudes. Therefore they would be the obvious choice for genetic
experimentation.

From what you said about the surfer lingo, I really don't think you should
bother with STn. You'll be *very* disappointed. Sorry Snowman, it's true.
Chris
Monkeys are generally accepted as a good species to do testing on in
relation to humans.
Plus, intelligent monkeys might actually cause our extinction. They
have opposable thumbs on their feet and some have prehensile tails to
use also. If they had equal intelligence's to humans we would find
ourselves in a difficult situation indeed!

I do know that monkeys would be an obvious choice for genetic

Why feeling like a dunce...NO reson for that whatsoever
<shaking me head>. I read Koontz books in danish. I think,
I've to use my dictionary to often if I read in english. I wouldn't get
those stories right either, I think. So I just read danish...I actually
don't know how good those translations are? The translation of
the BOCS isn't very good IMHO. Well, it's quiet difficult to get
it right, when we're talking poems. Know it from the german
translation too.
