Pronounciation question on "In Fury Born"/"Path of the Fury"

This is a silly question, probably, but bear in mind I'm not a native
speaker.

What is the correct pronounciation of Alice's last name, DeVries? In
my head, I've been pronouncing it much like the diamond seller "de
Beers"...
(It was a long time before I found out that "Taliaferro" is supposed
to be pronounced the same way as "Tolliver")

That's pretty much how I think it. I may include the final 's'. But
you are probably correct, the 's' is most likely silent.
