I see Lestat as either a Leo, Aries or Libra (since Anne herself is a
Libra). I'm an Aries and I know how self-absorbed we can be!
Louis is maybe a nice down-to-earth sign; Virgo, or Capricorn or Cancer.
Claudia i'm pretty positive is a Scorpio! Feel free to argue!
Armand hmmmm....i'm not sure. If any one knows about the signs and want to
speculate on any of Anne's characters (vampire, witch, mortal, maybe even
Mojo the dog:) and why they might be a certain sign write it down!!!! I'm
kind of drawing a blank!!!

Wow, so am I. I took that vampire test on brat's page (can't recall the URL)
and it said I was most compatible with Louis. I almost died, being an
Armandian and all. But I got over it. I kind of like it now.

Now doesn't *that* make sense? (and no, I don't say this just cause *I'm*
a libra too--October 5 *grin*)

Lestat is definitely a Leo (doesn't it just make too much sense, anyway?). Leo
is ambitious, a lover of limelight, speculative, extroverted, optimistic,
honorable, dignified, confident, proud, exuberant, sunny, flamboyant,
charismatic, dramatic, competitive, a leader, and an organizer. Of all the
vamps, this one's sign is the most obvious (to me). Leo is represented by the
Lion (ahem, Lioncourt) and it's ruling body is the sun (obvious connection).
I see Louis as a Cancer. Cancer is introverted, reserved, emotional,
sensitive, moody, sympathetic, security-conscious, prudent, retentive,
domestic, maternal, protective, quiet, calm, imaginative, conscientious, and
quite the traditionalist.
David I see as a Scorpio. Scorpio is intense, determined, powerful,
strong-willed, forceful, bold, courageous, enduring, competitive, resourceful,a
researcher, an investigator,
secretive, mysterious, penetrating, psychic, and self-reliant.
Jesse is a Gemini. Gemini is flexible, versatile, restless, a
jack-of-all-trades, lively, alert, quick-witted, literary, communicative, a
good conversationalist, changeable, sociable, logical, ingenious, agile,
dexterous, intellectual, and mentally ambitious.
Gabrielle acts like an Aquarian, though she's among the most difficult to
label. Aquarius is individualistic, unconventional, progressive, unique,
independent, visionary, perceptive, intellectual, logical, ingenious,
inventive, unpredictable, and detached.
Claudia has to be a Virgo since her birthday is actually given to us in the
text as the same day as Anne's daughter's birthday. However, I think she does
indeed behave a lot like her sign. Virgo is practical, responsible, sensible,
logical, analytical, highly discriminating, a careful planner, precise and
punctual, dedicated, perfectionist, critical, health conscious, and somewhat
introverted.
Daniel acts like a Sagittarian (my sign! :) ). Sagittarius is idealistic,
optimistic, freedom-loving, casual, friendly, buoyant, gregarious,
enthusiastic, philosophical, studious, farseeing, direct, outspoken, honest,
loyal, restless and loves travel.
Armand is also kind of hard to label, but I think he might be a Taurus. Taurus
is determined, efficient, stubborn, cautious, placid, persistent, enduring,
introverted, conservative, conventional, materialistic, security conscious,
stable, industrious, dependable, and one generally having significant financial
ability.
Marius is definitely a Libra. Libra is idealistic, a peacemaker, diplomatic,
refined, poised, gracious, kind, courteous, fair-minded, sociable, charming,
artistically creative, affable, cooperative, extroverted, and usually somewhat
indecisive. Wow, that's him to a T!
Incidentally, on an astrology site I looked at, this is what it said about the
compatability of Leo and Cancer (Lestat and Louis):
"Usually this is a good combination, since the Moon (Cancer) reflects the light
of the Sun (Leo). There is a lot to be said for these two, especially if Cancer
will be happy reflecting the admirable Leonian personality. Leo's huge heart
will soon forgive the moody outbursts that Cancer shows from time to time and
which result from the strong influence of the Moon, Cancer's ruling planet.
Cancer more than any other sign, responds to the moon's aspects as it moves
swiftly through the zodiac.
Cancer will feel a bit more enthused around Leo and will probably let Leo run
things or at least let them think they are in charge and hey! what's the
difference. Leo will appreciate Cancer's attention and as long as Cancer can
forget that they feel neglected at times when Leo is out running the world,
there is a chance this could work."
There just may be something to astrology after all! hehehe

Here's a few more:
What would be each vampire's favorite TV show?
What brand of TP would each vamp prefer?
Which vampire picks their nose, which ones would wipe on their
sleeve and which ones would use a hanky?
Which vampire prefers cats over dogs?
Do vampires wear Birkenstocks, Tevas, Docs or tennies?
Do vamps use Apple computers or PCs (hey, maybe "Santiago" can
help us out with this one)?
Which vamp prefers basketball, baseball, hockey, football
or synchronized swimming?
Would vamps use paper or plastic?
Would a vamp fart out loud or do a "silent but deadly"?
Do vamps prefer 60 Minutes or Dateline?
Which vamp has toe jam?
Which vamp collects belly button lint?
Do vamps take showers or baths?
I had more but hubby has arrived, it's FRIDAY, and I'm outta here.
Happy weekend everyone,

Who, if I cried out, would hear me among the angels' hierarchies?
And even if one of them pressed me suddenly against his heart:
I would be consumed in that overwhelming existence.
For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror,
Which we are just able to endure,
And we are so awed because it serenely disdains to annihilate us.
Every angel is terrifying.

Definitely, I once read this article in a magazine called American Horoscope or
soemthing or other, (i have it somewhere) and they actually did a study on what
they thought each vampire would be according to all the books and research and
stuff and this list is really close. Personally, I really think Louis is a
Pisces even if Anne says he is a Libra, he in no way acts like one and I myself
am a Pisces and identify the most with Louis (even if Ilove Lestat the best).
I have done some reading on Pisces and the more I read, the more I see Louis
(and myself for that matter) acting that way.
The astrology magazine gave Louis the birthday March 4 and Lestat the
birthday April 4, even though that would make him an Aries. I don't think
Lestat is as insensitvie as an Aries.
Ummmm........this makes no sense, but whatever, it's alte, I'm entitlted to say
strange things at night.

It says March 4th in the Companion. Where and why did she change it?
I agree Louis acts like a Pisces (which is also my sign) His sensitivity gives
him away. =)
In the Anne Rice 1998 Calendar, Anne writes the following:
"...I gave Louis the birthday of October 4, same as mine. Insofar as I accept
astrology (uneasily) I made him a Libra, mild of manner, weighing both sides
of an issue too heavily. Though I, myself, grew very far away from the gentle
description of the typical October child. Even writing the novel was an act of
aggression, of defiance--a way of saying that the death of my daughter
couldn't annihilate me. Drunk most of the time, quarrelsome, unreliable, and
generally unpredictable, I could still write--about a vampire born under the
sign of Libra, who lost everything with the death of a younger brother, and
never found it again."
That from her own pen....

I read or heard somewhere that the signs of Louis and Lestat are the
same as those of Anne and Stan. Anne being a Libra, I think and
Lestat, having Stan's birthday, November 7, is a Scopio. I wish I
could remember where I heard this.

Yes, that's where I saw it! In the same page she writes that Lestat
is a Scorpio like her husband, since Lestat is partly based on Stan.
I can see Lestat as a Scopio, although my first choice would have been
an Aries or Leo. I like astrology it's fun and I've gone a little
reading about the other stuff that makes up a person's personality.
The Sun Sign is only one part, there is also the Moon Sign and the
Rising Sign that have an influence on the person. So maybe Lestat was
born under the sign of Scorpio with a Moon in Aries or Leo and a
Rising Sign of Leo or Aries. This would cover all his major
personality quirks. The self-asborption and sometimes violent nature
could come for the Aries Moon or Rising Sign and his nature leadership
and survival instint could come from the Leo Moon or Rising Sign. Take
your pick.
This is fun, but I can't believe we are discussing this.

Actually, that's not true! I have a book that lists the
astrological data for 1000 historical figures who were born
in the 1700, 1800 and early 1900s. One could *certainly*
discern where the outer planets were in the 1700s but, of
course, to know the placement of the inner ones we would
have to know their *actual* birthdates and years of birth...
