7 BMX Racers Win Some Titles

Five Cape Coral BMX male riders and two female cruisers captured
titles Saturday and Sunday at the Florida State BMX Championships
in Sarasota.
Maliek Byndloss repeated a title in the Expert class, moving up to
the 14-year-old division, winning all four of his races. Geoffrey Banser
and Justin Riddell were ranked first in the 15 and 16 Expert divisions,
respectively, and both cruised to titles.
Jamie Blinkhorn won four races and finished first in the 26-34 Novice
class. Tim Peters also won a state title in the 35-40 Novice class.
Stephanie Baker, 13, won three of four races and captured the Girls
Cruisers 13-14 championship while Sarah Gross finished second in
four races and second overall in the Girls Cruisers 12-and-under class.
Valerie Keyser was ranked first in the 17-24 Ladies Cruiser
division and justified her ranking with a state title.
Gross also finished second in the girls 12-and-under, again
finishing second to two-time winner Rachael Youtzy of Tampa.
Strausser BMX president Todd Lackey finished third in the 35-39
Cruisers division, winning three races. Riddell was third in the
16-29 Pro Open, while Campbell Lackey was third in the 8 Girls.
