Can't log into Demonoid

I get the message that my password or username is not correct. I have
been a member for many years and my ratio is about 3.33 or so. Also,
the recover password won't work because the email address I used to
register years ago, is now obsolete (I switched providers 2 years ago).

this has happened to me before. just wait a day or two and the problem will
resolve.

Why not edit your profile and change your email to the current address.

In spite of all this, it has been 5 days and I still get the same thing:
no login - bad pwd or username.

If you look under the Demonoid banner and select <FAQ>, one of the
questions is "how do I contact Demonoid staff" which supplies a link for
that purpose. You could try that (if you haven't already).

Since you didn't have a VALID e-mail, you may have been kicked off for some
verboten activity, but wouldn't know it.
(Accounts do occasionaly get hacked)

You COULD post your user name here and someone could check to see if it's
still active.

Or just wait until it's open, and re-join

Don't know if it helps but this is from the Demonoid faq:

"I can't seem to log in, what do I do? (Also known as the Log-In of Death)

If you can't log in and your sign in information is correct, try
deleting your cookies and restarting your browser. You should now be
able to log in properly. This is usually an error when dealing with
Microsoft Internet Explorer"

and have left a message per the faq, but that was over a week ago with
no response. Don't know what else to do.

Yeah ... it's hard to know what to do. If your original contact email is
no longer valid (I don't have the full thread still but I think that's
what you said) then even if you manage to contact them, they have no
proof that you're you, so to speak.

(For instance, I could contact them after on looking up your details on
the site, tell them I'm locked out and give them a new address to send a
password reset to. I doubt they'd do it ... although it's possible if
you can quote the original email address to them (which is not in your
statistics visible online).

Right now, the Demonoid site isn't answering for me but when it does,
I'll double check their contact address. Though I guess you can do that
anyway without logging on?

I could try contacting them for you but I really don't see that
achieving anything - they'd probably just think I'm trying to hack you
and lock me out too.

The only other things I can think of are:

- You do have the correct url? http://www.demonoid.me works for me
(usually). Sounds a bit weak I know but stranger things have happened
and I think the .me locator is fairly recent.

- Try another browser e.g. Firefox if you were using IE or IE if you
were using Firefox. (I've found some cookies hard to get rid of in the
past).

- Try a different machine if you can, even a different location if it's
easy to do (local library?).

- Far be it from me to suggest that you double check the password you
are using in desperation but I once spent two weeks trying to log onto a
forum. I absolutely *knew* that the password was correct and entered it
slowly with one-finger typing. I was wrong.

Given the change in the website address (to .me) it would be worth also
trying:
