Some clients have an option "remove torrent" or "remove torrent
and data", with the latter you need to backup the downloaded
data before deleteing if you want to keep it.
More reliable is a file shredder multipass wipe on the torrent
download directory (that also wipes slack space} followed by
a history cleaner.
Or more secure still, a professional multipass disk erase
utility, followed by a reformat and reinstall of the OS.
And the ultimate fix if the security services, or paedophile
police are on to you, open up the drive, mash the platters,
and as good measure blowtorch what remains.
Or just find a good shrink who specialises in paranoia,
and take the medication.
After all your ISP probably keeps log files of your
activities.

Most ISPs around the world now keep logs of your connections for atleast 3
month (not the data sent).

LULZ@THIS, yes the ISP knows every single move you make especially with a static ip, but even dynamic ip's remain the same for months even years. Anyway YES the ISP keeps track of your roaming about in the interwebz..... BUT, and this is for those who get paranoid just because they recieve a letter from their ISP, this is only a warning. Some ISP'S are more strict and will just ban your ass after infringement only 2 times. I use Charter. Charter is the shit, yeah they have sent their PERSONAL letters atleast 5 times, BUT there was a period about 2 years ago when there was a group of lawyers and judges were sending notices to your ISP. The only info they had was, well everything they needed to know that it came from your ip, your modem's mac address, and even the device you used. Its MAC Address. They were only PHISHIING though. And I bet they made a lot of money because people got scared. Yes it was a signed sealed letter from a judge and a law firm threatening civil and possible civil actions. BUT HERE IS THE TRUTH. Your ISP CAN NOT GIVE OUT YOUR NAME OR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT WHO THAT IP ADDY BELONGS TO. Under a privacy law it is illegal even to give your name, address etc to anyone without atleast 30 days notice. And that is with a Judges signature, and a law firms case with all info leading to your IP. You will be labeled in the case as a "John Doe" and they usually do it in packs of 50 or more, so 50 others torrenting this torrent also recieve a letter making you John Doe 2 or 35 or 22... Whatever. It is absolute BULLSHIT. No One has EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT THROUGH TORRENTS IN A COURT OF LAW. But this does NOT keep them from "COPPING OUT" Which means they were not convicted per say but went a head and took a deal the law firms were offering, usually around 2,000-4,000$ $ $ And this scaring many people, seek a lawyer, and that lawyers fee is areound 2-4,000 $ AND UP. So now the law firm has se a settle out of court number before even hiring a lawyer. And older or people that get scared and do not know the law just PAY THE LAW FIRM. Because in their minds hey this lawyer is going to cost me, 3,000$ but they offered me an out of court settlement of 3,000$$$ A SURE FIRE WIN. So they pay these piece of shit assholes just trying to get $ by scaring them. I recieved 3. 3 Signed Sealed letters from a firm and judge. THROUGH MY ISP THOUGH. Which could NOT reveal my name, unless I did not respond. So it was this easy. I have a good lawyer friend. Using his law firms letterhead, address and his phone number. We sent a letter to the Law Firm about MY IP in question stating if we are further contacted in any way or taken to court in any way we are prepared to fight, and not only fight but COUNTER SUE. 3 different times, and in 2 years what have I heard (crickets) nothing. nada. Why? Because they wanted easy money. Do your research no one has been convicted in a trial of 12 jury 1 judge. NEVER ONE PERSON. The info they had on you, an ip, mac addresses of your modem and router and computer/devices. Would NEVER hold up in court. Why? I CAN HACK ANY ROUTER ON THE PLANET. #2 It could have been through an OPEN WIFI, or GUEST WIFI. They would have to raid your house find the computer's wifi adapter, or ethernet card, router, modem, and then find evidence on your hard drive of torrents or the movie/music in question! Therefore it would cost them MORE MONEY to pursue a suspect gather evidence and go to court than they would even be able to get from you! That is Worst case scenario. So, in short do not worry. The worst that can happen is your ISP bans you, and you need another ISP or internet connection. DO NOT GIVE IN TO EVEN LAWYERS, JUDGES, ETC! Know your rights, know its circumstantial evidence that wont hold. So, like me your best bet is to encrypt your hard drive using True Crypt. Shred the movies, shred the torrent files. Shred any residual files. A good program for this is Spotmau Powersuite. You can get a good safe cracked version of it off torrents just search for (Spotmau Powersuite by TomDaMan) that program has a ton of wicked features. You can make it bootable to a version of win7 that repairs your system, resets password etc etc. Also get Hitman Pro, and get Hitmanpr.alert with it... I am using it and right now every single keystroke I type is encrypted. Truly wicked software. THERE IS THE FUCKING TRUTH

LOL! A shining example of the 'wall of text'. There's no way in hell I'm
going to try reading that if you can't be bothered to chop it up into
easilly read chunks - especially when you've not got a line length set.

To amplify what Shaun said, those "easily read chunks" he refers to are
called "paragraphs" and are part of what is called "composition" which
we learned (some of us) in grade school. It's all part of what is known
as "literacy".

Feel free to look up any words that you don't understand.
