I read a review of Alanis Morissette that compared her to Hillary Clinton.
(Hillary of course, is the devil incarnate)

This morning I downloaded a video of Alanis Morossette. I (gulp) kind of
liked it.
How have I come to such a pitiful state?

Actually, if you try to completely ignore what she's saying, and concentrate
on the drums and bass, it's not too bad.

I hate dyky-sounding names. Like Hilary... and Alanis. Recall a
feminist hippie dyke who dropped the name Elizabeth for Elspeth
because it sounded more "noble." Ashley ... Brooke ... Tristan ..

Before long, we'll hear of a woman named Bruno.

And don't get me started on those sistahs' names that began showing up
on birth certificates in the 60s..

you think that's bad, about a month ago, for
the first time, i heard half a brittany spears
song, and i liked it. I havent' heard it since.
(or, any of her stuff for that matter)

I like the spice girls too, after watching their
movie with a friend's kids.

My younger aquaintances are horrified
that I've been buying Rod Stewart CDs, meaning
OLD rod stewart, meaning, Faces.

I'm horrifed of them, they're horrified of me.

"what's the world coming to."

"Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman"? I was forced to listen to the full
thing today for the first time, with no audio distractions. I was
surprised, in
that the lyrics weren't awful (despite the title) and she was actually
singing rather well. (A female acquaintance of mine had recently made
similar comments about Slutney's singing this song on some TV show,
interestingly enough.) Why can't her other songs be tolerable? The
video sucks, though. If I want to see Ms. Spears, I want to see her
writhing around, not ripping-off a lame Shakira video (and, of course,
the latter stole Slutney's style).

You're not horrifying- you just have bad taste.
