The Greek isn't the context. It's the meaning of the words. The
context shows he's talking about being disqualified from rewards
and partaking in the fruit of the gospel, not whether he is
personally saved or lost.

Your whole doctrine is subterfuge, to conceal the fact salvation
is by sovereign grace, not personal merit.
The principle of clear reference is that when you have a doctrine
clearly established in a large body of Scripture, you don't
abandon that in favor of a contradictory interpretation of a
single verse snippet here and there, which is about all you do.
Entire books of the Bible were written to refute the heresy you
proclaim (such as Galatians), and the doctrine of salvation by
sovereign grace, through faith, apart from works is clearly
taught in large bodies of Scripture like Romans 1 - 4; Ephesians
2; Romans 8 - 11, and over 200 individual passages of Scripture
that present salvation on the sole basis of faith in Christ. You
don't abandon the preponderance of clear evidence like that, in
favor of a contrary interpretation of a verse snippet here and
there the way you do, then claim that was observing the context.
Now to the context of the verse you quoted:
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 NASB
(24) Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but
only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.
(25) Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control
in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath,
but we an imperishable.
(26) Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in
such a way, as not beating the air;
(27) but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that,
after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
Paul is talking about being disqualified for rewards for service,
and partaking in the fruit of the gospel labor, not earning
salvation.
You can't have salvation being by grace, and by human merit.
Otherwise, grace is no more grace, and works are no more works:
Romans 11:5-6 NIV
(5) So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
(6) And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were,
grace would no longer be grace.
--
Have you heard Christ died for our sins, and God raised Him
from the dead? Did you know God saves you from hell and
gives you eternal life through faith in this finished work alone,
not your merits (Jn. 3:16; 1 Cor. 15:1-3; Eph. 2:8-10; 2 Thess.
1:8-9)? This is so man cannot boast, and God alone gets the
glory (Eph. 2:8-9).

Go back to my quote from 1 Corinthians 9:27 and prove from its
context that I changed the meaning of what Paul was writing. If you
don't do that, you will prove that you are a man who uses ad hominum
arguments because he has no case.
Donna Kupp
Why do you pretend that didn't already happen. Here's a quote
from my last response:
First of all, let's get something straight. One cannot be good
enough to merit justification, however once Justified one must be
good enough to not merit the destruction reserved for rebellious
Christians. Randy, what you are not understanding is that our faith
must be tested and approved before we receive the crown of life.*
This is a life or death matter --so important that he warned the
church of Roman with these words:
"For if ye live after the flesh, YE SHALL DIE: but if ye through
the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, YE SHALL LIVE."
Romans 8:13
Now Randy, I thank you for presenting vs 27, in partial context.
As you can see the "Moreover, Brethren" of Chapter 10 introduces
a reason for what has preceded in chapter 9 and continues Paul's
message. It clearly shows that he is NOT talking about the rewards
for Christian service; but is warning the Christians of Corinth that
the consequences of sin is death. Read it!
Now, let us take a look at Chapter 9:25 from the King James Version:
"And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all
things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an
incorruptible." 1 Corinthians 9:25
The athletes who used great discipline to conquer in the Olympic
games were crowned with withering wreaths of olive, bays or
laurel; but Christians who overcome the sinful deeds of the body
will receive the incorruptible crown of eternal life. James said it
this way:
"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried,
he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to
them that love him." James 1:12
-- and here the apostle tells us how we love God:
"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and
his commandments are not grievous." 1 John 5:3

A lie taught nowhere in the Bible. You're simply confusing the
fruit of saving faith with a term of salvation.
> Randy, what you are not understanding is that our faith
> must be tested and approved before we receive the crown of life.*
Your attempt to confuse that with a man-merited condition of
salvation, when it is not. Those whom God justified He also
glorified (Romans 8:30). God went out of His way to demonstrate
that salvation is based on His sovereign choice and mercy, not on
the will or merits of man. The idea you can lose your salvation
is based on the lie that salvation depends on your merits rather
than God's will in saving the elect, and Christ's imputed
righteousness. You are absolutely a perfectly perverted, Satanic
liar, preaching a false, damnable heretical gospel!
> This is a life or death matter --so important that he warned the

Which is why you are going to burn in a hot corner of hell for
promoting your damnable heresies and lies in your false gospel of
justification through personal merit (Galatians).

You're the Satanically energized moron who doesn't read or
understand the Bible, other than enough to twist it into a
perfect lie that contradicts everything it teaches.
For example, you tried to take the single verse out of context
and make it sound like Paul was talking about losing his
salvation, when he was talking about the possibility of losing
reward. Then, when faced with the context that exposed your
error, you have to go clear back until he's talking about
something else. You are absolutely twisted and, and pervert
everything the Bible says with your false, damnable, heresy gospel.

Deceptive of Vera Six isn't it.
There have been instance, here, for cyber bullying amongst high school
kids (including with mobile/cell phones) that the authorities are
trying to take action. Some cases have surfaced in the news recently
with some claimants winning compensation. Heavens knows what goes on

Dunno if it happens in other countries as well.

There are laws against cyber-bullying but Randy Young and Vera Six ignore
them. The Christian women bullied by Randy Young would have a HUGE
DOCUMENTED HISTORY were they ever to press charges against him.
Oh, and there are also laws against homosexual vilifiation which Randy Young
and Vera Six have also been guity of.
The laws to protect people from thse crimes (and sins) were enacted because
some of the victims of such thugs committed suicide. Recently a schoolboy
suicided after being the victim of the same types of bullying Randy Young
has committed on Christian women.
As a professional educator, it is mandatory for me to report instances of
abuse of school children.
> [BTW I don't know how anyone could say I'm unemployed since I'm

... and I am retired. Such truth doesn't matter much to cyber-bullies such
as Randy Young and Vera Six.
WHO did Jesus abuse and bully??????
I can't think of anyone but Randy Young and Vera Six think they are
following Jesus by abusing and bullying other people.
It must be a different Jesus than I know.
From memory: it also spills over into social sites such as Twitter,
Facebook etc.

Fundamentalists (all religions) have dedicated themselves to their deity and are

Their religious institution is often, to them, a surrogate family and they have
chosen a branch of the family which caters to their own needs.
You usually find ... rigidity, emotional needs and a place where childish ideas
are expressed. "Us" versus "them" is a common theme - as well as gang like
behaviour. Their G_d is often authoritarian like a father ... or endlessly
forgiving like a mother - but both of these roles typical of a physically abusive
family ... possibly with alcohol thrown in. Authority, power, arbitrary rulings,
heavy handed punishments ... sigh.
BUT ... the people who come ... NEED such a place. It is ... their home.
Others forget that those people who attend have a need for such relationships.
And they often do for decades ... as it takes a long tome to allow changes to
occur within.
Think Phelps and those who attend his church. Real physical abusive "pastor" and
real people desiring that sort of relationship and church.
We condemn Phelps as we should, but I do not condemn the abused who need his
church.
Though ... they often become abusive in turn, typical of those raised in

Randy would not know JC if he would walk up to him ... haul him up and shove him
against a brick wall and say "Look at me."
Randy has chosen a fantasy world and the real JC would scare him into dirtying his
pants.
And as he has consciously rejected JC ... and chosen to go the fantasy route, it
is not going to change in the foreseeable future.
Vera is ... different. But she also does not know JC - as she hangs around people
who only see a childish little punk. But I have hopes.
It is frightening to ask someone to accept real love and to go forward, away from
the seeming perfection of a church ... the miracles, the answers, the love of the
church which seemingly almost is perfect ...
G_d's love, her churches love ... and a choice. Which will she choose? And all we
can do is watch.

Mordecai!
When words and actions disagree, believe actions.
When rhetoric and reality disagree, either rhetoric is wrong or reality is wrong,
and reality is Never wrong.
Bullshit. That's just reverse legalism.
If at ANY time we try to justify ourselves according to the law--before or
after our epiphany of God's Grace--or expect God to condemn us according to
the law (rather than the works of the Gospel) then GRACE IS NULLIFIED.
And what the hell is a "rebellious Christian?"
There is "antichristian," which is someone posing as a Christian who is not
a Christian, but there is no such thing as a "rebellious Christian:" If
they're rebelling, they're "antichrist," and not Christian at all.
And Jesus describes six (then seven and eight) kinds of "antichristians" in
the seven letters.
1) Legalists.
2) Universalists.
3) Religionists.
4) Liberals.
5) Worldliness.
6) Marginalists.
And even then, Jesus doesn't say "all you people are condemned," but rather,
that He'll take what He will and leave what He will in mixtures, to whit...
"But I hold these things against you."
Conditional warning.
"I have a few things against you."
"I have a thing against a few of you."
"a few of you are worthy."
All praise.
All rebuke.
Sounds to me like you're tripping the line into legalism, which is just as
much "antichrist" as liberalism.

No? You mean, AFTER you have attained grace, go and sin ... NO MORE?
But what is sin?
Well the NT says that sin is in the law. Without the law, there is no
condemnation for sin. The law defines sin.
Now go out and break the law so you can sin so that grace can abound ... and do
not warn people that if they sin and thus are workers of iniquity ... like the

Go and instruct them in your legalism that they are to deliberately go out and

My acceptance of a broad range of belief has come through contact with
friends of diverse belief. I have learnt much about community through
Catholics. I have learnt much about tradition through Orthodox, I have
learnt much about wisdom through Jews. I have learnt much about bible

What I used to think was the norm (fundamentalism) isn't the norm. My views
about the norm are in a state of flux. Many of the great biblical figures
such as Abraham, Moses and Jesus were not normal if by "normal" that means
fitting in with the majority view.

Well, here's some advice: If you want to understand prophecy future, study
the history of the times in which the prophets gave their prophecies, then
study the times of Jesus Christ, then put A and B together, and you'll

Who empowers believers to understand spiritual truths?
1 Corinthians 2:12-16 NIV
(12) We have not received the spirit of the world but the
Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has
freely given us.
(13) This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human
wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual
truths in spiritual words.
(14) The man without the Spirit does not accept the things
that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to
him, and he cannot understand them, because they are
spiritually discerned.
(15) The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but
he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
(16) "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may
instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
Answer: The Holy Spirit
To whom does Marty attribute Vera's ability to understand

Answer: Satan.
Now then, if the Holy Spirit empowered Vera to understand any
of those Scriptures over the years, while she's been defending
the doctrine of the deity of Christ, the reliability of our
Bibles, and the triune nature of God, and Matt said that power
came from Satan, how has Marty not attributed power that came
from the Holy Spirit to Satan?

LOL is right. Your nutso posts are a matter of record.
Still lying. Satan is the spirit being addressed. He inhabits the ones who

Fred A Stover wrote:

Randy? Truth?
He condemns those who do not break the law of Moses and exonerates those who do.
How? He condemns homosexuals and lesbians, not those who engage in male to male anal sex.
Lesbians do not break the law. Many male homosexuals do not break the law as they say "If I wanted sex,
I would go to a woman" and refuse anal sex - to either give or receive.
Bi-sexual people are not condemned as they are not homosexuals.
Heterosexuals who engage in such anal sex ... for example in temple prostitution, rape (including male
child rape or pedophilia), sexual outlet where there are no women (example jails of the old long
distance sailors) ... These are acceptable.
Further - the old concept was men who engage in sex with men, sodomites ... and for 1900 years before
the psychologists defined the words for homosexuality, the word was translated as those who have anal
sex with men.
But it is only the last century that this word was translated as "homosexual." and it is only in the
last century that paul was magically understood as to what he meant because ... Translators used the
word homosexual and commentaries repeated the use of the term.
BTW - for over half of the last century, the word "homosexual" was still used as males who had anal sex
with men rather than the clinical definition related to desires which is being used today. This is a
case of the English language changing its terminology.
Sigh .., I am sorry, you have presented Randy as having the truth.
In this subject, he does not ... but even that is not important.
He does not seek the truth, does not live the truth - and when his ideas are wrong, will not allow truth
to change him and to grow and repent. That IS important.
Please note, he might be a christian, might be save, might be accepted, might be going to heaven ... I
have no idea. That is between him and the most high ... and I do not know the mind of the most high upon
this point ... nor do I particularly care to know.
But he is not a truth follower, a truth holder, a truth lover, a man who walks and lives truth.
It is not the correctness of beliefs which sets aside those who love truth - but rather what they do
when they find they have made a mistake which shows if a person loves the truth.
You should not have chosen this as a defence for Randy as you have condemned him ...and yourself.
Randy is openly sinning. It is not exactly secret.
It takes ten minutes of research to check it out.
You could have checked.
You did not.
Thus - in using this as a defence of Randy, you have also condemned yourself.
Sorry Fred.
Unfortunately - you are not a reliable witness.
You do not love truth.

Which isn't that far from the truth, so what's the problem with his
statement? (Not that I've heard his doctrines and are prepared to defend

You've been preaching the doctrines of Satan--the missing week theory, the
front-loaded fake "gospel," the rapture myth--for years, TOO, and yet claim
to be "led in the Spirit."

I'm a Southern Baptist and my Doctrinal beliefs are in line with them.
You will find Randy's main dispute with me is I believe we are all
allowed to have opinions. I like a read a good debate which means I
need to see all sides of the issue, not just automatically have to
agree with Randy and Vera's little group.
To make it short I won't attack those he says to and am polite to even
those I disagree with.
I want as many as possible to find Christ and you can't force that the
way Randy seems to want to.

That's a lie. You attack the gospel even when it's just being
quoted directly from Scripture, then you label it an "opinion",
as if that will somehow justify your behavior:

Randy Young has major psychological problems. He has a bible idoloatry that
disrupts the whole of his life including looking for work.
Would you want to hire him as a fellow worker? Can you imagine staff
meetings if Randy was in attendance? A bible verse for every action!
Maybe Randy Young doesn't have anything else in his life EXCEPT a bible.
How very sad!
One learns SO much about God from meeting new people with different ideas.
I've explained how I've learnt much from Jews, Catholics, Orthodox,
Fundamentalists, Moselms, Gnostics, Agnostics, Atheists.
Truth can be found in the strangest of places. All truth is God's truth.
Correct!
Correct!

Well, you've got that part right. I don't rely on consensus--that's how the

LOL I know I have read many of your post. The difference between
myself and many others is that I believe you have a right to your own
views.
I don't believe people are controlled by satan for disagreeing with
Randy, Vera and Fred's so called exegesis.
I have found this article
http://christianity.about.com/od/denominations/a/baptistdenom.htm
The Below I do not agree with as myself and my wife are equal out of
love. Respect is foremost in our relationship. I do agree it is the
husbands job to protect the family.
***************************
Equality - In a resolution released in 1998, Southern Baptists view
all people as equal in God's eyes, but believe the husband or man has
authority in the household and responsibility to protect his family.
The wife or woman ought to respect and love her husband and submit
graciously to his demands.
****************************
The Southern Baptist convention also has this just less plain.
What is your opinion on this? I was raised a SB, but interested in
your opinions of thier core values.
I now visit many denominations and have found few I truly dislike.
Have also found a few SB pastors that rubbed me the wrong way.
God Bless
Matt
Randy this is a cut and paste spam. I agree with the Bible just not
your eisegesis of it. So to disagree with the Randy is to commit
heresy. BTW the first quote was Vera's reply to my post on pure
scripture that you removed for effect. A deceptive practice. My
statement was about your and Vera's eisegesis of scripture not the
scripture itself. Better to go back to calling me a drunk it might
work better.
It looks like your trying to replace Griz here. Won't work you have
less than half the brain Griz does. Griz I could respect and agree
with even although not always. Your not even half the man Griz is.
Now go make a spam of how often Griz and I disagreed. I learned in
time to respect him as he and I both changed.
God Bless
Matt
But Fred, how can you write such a thing about our dear heretick Mark
Tindall? It should have been "foot-looped" banana nut!
By the way... talking of nuts... my new diet is to eat only five
spoonful of nuts every day.
Question: Are cocos nuts nuts?
What I did not know was that peanuts are no nuts at all, so I should
better use the cocos nuts for my diet.
> By the way... talking of nuts... my new diet is to eat only five

I'm not sure that's healthy.

1:8-9)? This is so man cannot boast, and God alone gets the
glory (Eph. 2:8-9).

You repeat the same unsubstantiated lie by which you attacked us
when we were quoting the gospel from Scripture, as if that proves
you aren't attacking the gospel we quoted?

You just made the same claim again about it. Show from what the
Bible says and we said those posts, that we were practicing
eisegesis:

Okay, I will leave the nuts in ACC. Enough is enough. :-)
Joking and ACC nuts aside, nuts are healthy. But I would not eat five
coconuts on a spoon a day. I have come to the conclusion that all the
"light" products are contra-productive to any diet for losing weight.
There are less calories, but they do not make one full. It is better to
eat something that has valuable things in it. If I eat a banana every
day, I get almost all the vitamins I need, and since bananas are sweet,
my longing for chocolate stops naturally. I have lost 9.6 kg (more than
21 pounds) of weight like this since April, and I have not been hungry
in this time and eaten whatever I liked to eat. I think losing weight
can be easy - gaining it can sometimes be much more difficult. But I had
to lose some weight, and my plan works well, although I had to have a
break for five weeks in between when I just tried not to gain back what
I had lost. After that I am now losing one pound after the other.
I watched a man on TV who had lost 140 kg (more than 300 lb) in a year,
so I thought I could lose a few pounds, too. :-) It can be easy if one
does not want to lose too much at once. It just takes patience and the
knowledge that one cannot keep diets if you have to reject your
favourite food all the time, or if you have to run around hungry all the
time. My diet is based on eating much at the right time. I also eat
chips and mayonnaise. :-) And cream cake. :-) Once a week I eat more
than on the other days, so my body is tricked out the next day when I am
back to the normal portions. :-) I have exchanged the white bread with
dark bread, though, and I do not eat too much fat.
Prayer helped much, too. My prophecy: If the person reading this can
manage to lose 2 lb in a month, he will have lost 24 lb until November
10, 2010! ;-)

LOL Randy this is looking more like the time you claimed Chuck said
I was a drunk over and over it is to no point.
Looks like you said I said over and over.
If I made a mistake and you weren't using Eisegesis I'm sorry.
When you post Bible verses alone and you claim they make your point it
sounds like your version of eisegesis.

<whatever>
The bible is NOT as important as God.
God is NOT the bible. Quoting the bible is NOT quoting God.
The bible contains BOTH truth and error (and many mixes of both).
The wise person knows how to correctly divide the two using one's God-given
mind (and to put to one side those parts which one is not sure of).
THAT is why some parts of the bible can be quoted because they are ACCURATE
and other parts are not quoted because they are INACCURATE.
The ignorant person, such as Randy Young, believes ALL the bible to be 100%
correct even the contradictions, forgeries, editings, additions, etc. -
though Randy Young CANNOT tell us which of the MULTIPLE endings to Mark's
gospel is the ONE and ONLY true ending!!!!

Christ does not read the Bible, the New Testament, or the Gospel. He is the
norm of the Bible, the criterion of the New Testament, the incarnation of
the Gospel. ... The person, not the book, and the life, not the text, are
decisive and constitutive for us.

The most pronounced characteristics [of fundamentalists] are the following:
(a) a very strong emphasis on the inerrancy of the Bible, the absence from
it of any sort of error;
(b) a strong hostility to modern theology and to the methods, results and
implications of modern critical study of the Bible;
(c) an assurance that those who do not share their religious viewpoint are
not really 'true Christians' at all.
- James Barr "Fundamentalism" (SCM Press:1977) p.1
> The bible contains BOTH truth and error (and many mixes of both).
That contradicts what you said before:

Before you said you can't be sure what is not an error. Now
you're saying the Bible has both truth and error. That means you
would have to know that some of the Bible is true, which would
mean you are contradicting what you said when you claimed you
can't know what is not an error.
