They will work closely with corporate visual as they will be responsible for setting the floors to directive. Since they are the team to touch the merchandise daily they also will be the team to execute hard marks. The MTM is the key merchant in the store who possesses strong leadership and organizational skills. Responsibilities § Demonstrates integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the company culture, values, and mission § Fosters a positive working environment that encourages diversity, mutual respect and teamwork and is free of discrimination and harassment § Makes an exceptional customer experience the number one priority § Communicates and implements strategies that meet company merchandising standards and support brand consistency including: Merchandise flow; Merchandise condition; Inventory control; Pricing/Markdowns; Signage; Visual Directives § Based on store’s strategic plan establishes team objectives, standards and expectations § Communicates and enforces all loss prevention and safety strategies to protect company assets, associates, and customers § Problem solves in a fast-paced, changing environment exercising good judgment about the company’s objectives in determining solutions § Partners with customer service team to ensure store provides a consistent and memorable customer experience § Effectively manages the merchandise team to achieve company objectives and keep store turnover within company standards: – Recruits, interviews and selects candidates with requisite skills to fulfill responsibilities and achieve high performance results – Actively develops relationships with potential talent pool for all positions on the team – Facilitates the orientation, on-boarding, and training of team associates – Communicates regularly about team objectives and expectations – Partners with Merchandise Team Manager to hold recurring coaching/counseling sessions with associates to review performance and provide timely feedback – Collaborates with the Store Manager and Regional Human Resources Director to manage employee relations concerns – Provides opportunities for career feedback and fosters development § Additional responsibilities as assigned Requirements § College degree or equivalent § 2 – 5 years of store management experience § Strong communication and interpersonal skills § Strong merchandising skills § Big Box retail experience preferred
