Description: ATS is an information technologies consulting company providing services to Fortune 500 companies nationwide. The company has extensive contacts within its Fortune 500 client base and is able to access a large pool of talented and responsive professionals with proven records of accomplishment in both the technical and business fields.
We are currently seeking a Lead Developer who will be responsible for working with Development Managers and Architects in the high level systems design/architecture and full-scale development of software applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as a high-level technical expert in the development, coding, testing and debugging for the application and system integration
2. Provide tactical input to the management team to identify and scope the applicable opportunities and identify risks and constraints. Provide input and recommendations on how to mitigate risks.
3. With management and architect guidance, lead the design efforts of integrated technology solutions to meet business needs
4. Perform primary technical research on how to best meet the technical project requirements. Identify existing solutions; leverage and complete partial solutions; invent where necessary and practical.
5. Provide early proof of concept modeling and support management efforts in adoption of solutions
6. Produce various lifecycle deliverables, from conceptual to tactical models as well as other required documentation artifacts
7. Assist in all development, validation and delivery aspects of the software development lifecycle including? design, code, test, debug, integration, quality assurance review, and production of appropriate documentation.
8. Perform comprehensive preliminary testing and produce all entrance criteria documentation required to promote products under development to Software Test (SQA).
9. Understand latest application architecture, technology, solutions, and industry trends.
10. Use and advocate the use of Reference Architecture, development frameworks, methodologies, and procedures
11. Use and advocate the use of IT Software Development Life Cycle and produce necessary artifacts to improve software development methodologies within IT.
12. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members on technical/architectural solutions and assist in solving technical and other problems in the course of software development
13. May lead a small team of developers in designing and developing sub-systems and components within the application.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with the responsibilities outlined above. The candidate must have significant experience with technologies listed.
1. 8-10 years of progressively diverse analysis, design, development, and testing experience, including leading small teams
2. 5-10 years of production experience in Java and other OO languages/tools. Specific experience in Java, JBOSS, J2EE, JSF, Facelets, Rich Faces, Seam, Spring Framework, Hibernate, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Apache, relevant XML APIs, XPATH, XQUERY, DTD, Schema, XSL/XSLT
3. 5 - 7 years Unix platform experience, both as software engineer and system manager on Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, or Linux-Solaris preferred

1. Demonstrate strength in communicating technical solutions to both technical and non-technical team members.
2. Good interpersonal skills in order to interact with clients, technical staff, and third parties.
3. Ability to evangelize and engage other business units, partners, and industry players.
4. Demonstrate strong problem solving ability, logic, and analytical skills.
5. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.
6. Experience with software engineering standards, practices, methods and tools.
7. Broad perspective/experience in tactical delivery across methods, tools, platforms, architectures, etc.

Technology and Architectural Competency:
1. Extensive hands on application development and technical lead/lead developer experience
2. Significant experience working on large scale highly integrated application development
3. Expert Java and web application experience
4. Experience with industry standard architecture and design methodologies and processes
5. Extensive experience with technical problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting.
6. UML Modeling and use of Sybase PowerDesigner
7. Prototype/experiment/simulate
8. Prepare architectural documents and presentations
9. Strategic thinking, be able to take an enterprise or system viewpoint
10. Performance modeling, profiling, monitoring, and troubleshooting a plus
Experience in one or more of the following service delivery/operational domains is desired:
1. Scoring and Statistical Analysis
2. Reporting
3. Registration and Candidate Management
4. Scheduling and Test Center Management
Varied experience in following areas is required:
1. Rich and varied IT solutions design and development experience
2. Hands on experience designing and developing large scale software systems Designing and implementing large scale system integration efforts
3. Business requirements gathering, Joint Application Design (JAD), Business Process Modeling (BPM) and Business Process Decomposition processes
4. Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience
5. Industry standard processes (SDLC, CMMI, Change Mgmt, ITIL, etc.)
6. Hands on experience developing User Interfaces (Web, Legacy, Handhelds)
7. Vendor package selection (Leverage, Build and Buy decisions)
8. Technical application and Infrastructure architecture design and development experience
Hands-on experience in the following technologies is required:
1. Java , J2EE, JSF
2. Java Application Servers (JBoss)
3. Seam, Spring, Hibernate, JBoss Rich Faces, JSF, Facelets
4. Web Services and XML
5. XPATH, XQUERY, DTD, Schema, XSL/XSLT
6. IBM MQ integration environments
7. IDMS, Oracle and/or SQL Server database technologies
8. Linux and Windows operating systems
9. automated test cases creation using the JUNIT Framework,
10. Experience with Cloud computing, virtualization and mobile device technology a plus
11. Experience in cross browser development. UI design and usability experience a plus.
EDUCATION
A Bachelor?s degree with extensive coursework in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
