Responsibilities: PROJECTS: Interface with various Project Teams including the Data Center Modernization Project and other Line of Business Projects. Work to gather requirements from the Integrated Architecture Group in order to create Solution Delivery Documents for Build & Deployment teams. Work closely with Business stakeholders with respect to backup strategies, archival strategies, and retention policies as it applies to data storage. Work on the Data Protection Lifecycle Projects and Lifecycle budget forecasts for new systems expansion and upgrades. DESIGN - Ensure architectural designs and engineering of data backup and recovery are aligned to meet business objectives and Service Level Agreements as well as aligned with IT Strategies. Assist in project prioritization in order to define critical path for IT project implementations. STANDARDS & PLANNING - Develop, document, publish, and enforce standards for Enterprise Backup & Recovery, Archiving. Provide tactical planning support to Operations and Enterprise Architecture with data backup, recovery, and data storage techniques. Provide interface for vendor relationship management with respect to equipment and contracts. DEVELOPMENT: Develop and provide guidance in the implementation of backup systems hardware and/or backup software. Must be able to analyze client requirements and implement improvements CAPACITY: Must be able to determine enterprise wide capacity planning requirements for Virtual Tape Library and Physical Tape Library resources. Provide communication interface for CTO Office (Enterprise Architecture) to ensure bandwidth and backup/recovery capacity needs are met to support company data needs. DATA CLASSIFICATION: Information Lifecycle Management ILM, candidate will be familiar with Storage Model Tiers, Data Classification, and Information Lifecycle Management concepts. Successful candidate will also work closely with internal and external subject matter experts on storage requirements. Familiarity with E-Discovery strategies and rules regarding FRCP are beneficial. Skills: Unix, Windows, Storage, or Backup System Administration Budget planning and forecasting skills. IBM TSM LAN-Free (TSM for SAN) experience IBM TSM TDP for Oracle & SQL experience IT Architecture Engineering - Data Protection, Business Continuity Storage Network Engineering Solutions Delivery BA/BS Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience MS Office, Visio Cisco/TSM/Vendor Certification Software Products: IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Data Domain VTL EMC 4400 EDL EMC Virtual Tape Library - 4406/5200 Hitachi TrueCopy Replication SRM - Storage Resource Manager (knowledge of basic product features) .
