The Delaware City facility is a gas transfill and distribution facility serving customers across the Northeastern US with hydrogen products. The Site Manager is a key member of the management team for the Northeast business area. The position will supervise a current team of 7 technicians and mechanics and 26 drivers. The position reports to the Global Oprations Northeast Regional Manager. Key responsibilities for this position include: - Safety leadership including the management of the Air Products safety program with a focus on the reduction of recordable injuries and motor vehicle accidents. - Supervision of the transfill activities ensuring equipment operation and maintenance are performed in accordance with company standards. - Interface with tactical planning and delivery logistics planning to ensure inventory management of the facilities products. - Support of all aspects of the day-to-day distribution activities to include closing trip reports, scheduling required vehicle maintenance, and maintaining required vehicle inspection records. - Providing environmental, safety and DOT training to distribution personnel. - Achieving fleet miles per gallon and other key productivity targets. - Performing driver observations to ensure compliance with APCI and DOT regulations. - Interface with customer base to ensure delivery integrity and safety. Candidates for this position will be evaluated on the basis of the following: - Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills - A commitment to the companys ethics values - A demonstrated commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental leadership - Strong distribution experience in similar plants or operations of similar complexity - Some knowledge of equipment maintenance on Freightliner and/or Mack trucks desirable - Experience with SAP software systems highly desirable - Some operational experience is desirable but not mandatory. - A strong commitment to employee involvement and development, diversity and team success - The ability to plan his/her own activities (including maintenance planning) for safe and reliable operation within budget requirements - A commitment to productivity and the use of CI tools - Ability to build and maintain the working relationships with our customers, suppliers and peer groups at the operating level Air Products (NYSE:APD) serves customers in industrial, energy, technology and healthcare markets worldwide with a unique portfolio of atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials, and equipment and services.
