Description The Environmental Field Support Engineer will be responsible for implementing policies, programs and practices at Gamesa manufacturing locations and wind farms to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and standards concerning environmental compliance. Responsibilities: • Serve as environmental compliance audit team member • Develop training programs and conduct employee training • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and submittal of reports, plans, permit applications and other documentation to government agencies • Optimize environmental impact of manufacturing processes by developing and tracking key performance indicators • Report and track corrective action plans • Provide timely and adequate progress reports regarding compliance, training, key performance indicators, etc. • Oversee selection and management of environmental compliance contractors and consultants • Assure completeness of file records and control for all documents related to environmental compliance
Required Skills • Must: Bachelors degree in a scientific or technical discipline related to the environmental field and ten years? experience in environmental compliance; OR a Masters Degree in a scientific or technical discipline related to the environmental field and five years? experience in environmental compliance • Preferred: In-depth knowledge of relevant Pennsylvania and federal environmental statutes and regulations, including: oClean Air Act oEndangered Species Act oStorm Water management oHazardous waste transport and disposal oPennsylvania Solid Waste Management Act, RCRA oClean Water Act • Preferred: Manufacturing experience or state environmental agency in role of permit writing, enforcement or inspections • Must: Excellent organizational and communication skills • Must: Demonstrated project management experience • Must: Strong computer skills • Must: Demonstrated ability to perform with minimal supervision, based on prior work experiences
