GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring that the applications architecture and infrastructure supporting complex applications are designed to meet evolving business requirements and standards for reliability, scalability, and availability.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features for complex applications.
- Determines specifications, plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes either individually or with members of the project team.
- Provides design recommendations and expertise regarding the integration of complex applications across the business based on long-term IT organization strategy.
- Performs trend analysis to proactively design and implement application improvements to support current and future business needs.
- Provides technical advice and counsel to developers related to the applications architecture for assigned complex applications.
- Serves as a technical expert and critical technical resource across all disciplines.
- Designs and implements migration strategies for applications to new technologies.
- Recommends improvements to programming and development standards/procedures and programming architectures based on industry trends.
- Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business.
- Utilizes state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs.
- Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers.
- Acts as a mentor and go to technical resource for the development team
- Performs other duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (7-10 years) experience in multiple IT areas and relevant application architecture experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of Java platforms, tools and best practices.
- Advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, applications systems design, and integration required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the application of current technologies, emerging trends, and architectural principles.
