Description: The Windows Server Administrator is responsible to Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft Windows server operating systems and applications. Recognize and troubleshoot problems with server hardware and applications software. Establish and document standards and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
The successful Windows Server Administrator must build, monitor, maintain and manage both physical and virtual servers. This includes virtualization through Hyper-V, storage (SAN), licensing and all aspects of MS Exchange. The Windows Server Administrator must be able to come to work promptly and regularly. Must be able to take direction and work well with others. Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines. Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately. Must be able to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
Oversee execution of Windows Servers. Successful implementation includes:
1. Timely flow of information to maintain the intranet/internet/portals
2. Ability to design, build, develop and manage Windows Servers
3. Maintain a high standard of image and professionalism.
4. Diligence in keeping apprised of new technologies.
Maintains the highest customer relations standards.
Sets individual personal goals; reviews them at regularly scheduled meetings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Must have a full understanding of Windows Servers in both remote and automated server monitoring and management.
Knowledge and application of time management to balance work schedules and business needs.
Supervisory Responsibility:
There are no personnel supervisory duties. Primary duty is to manage the servers. Responsibility includes but is not limited to the items listed under Essential Job Functions with regard to monitoring and maintaining the servers. The Server Administrator must ensure that the systems perform their job functions allowing to continue to function in an efficient environment taking precautions to avoid service outages.
Minimum Qualifications:
System/Computer Operations skills including but not limited to backup, DR/CP, security, version and patch management.
College Graduate is preferred
ORACLE and SQL Server DBA
Duties and Responsibilities for Oracle DBA:
Responsible for supporting the Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security.
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance.
To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle Development team and third parties as appropriate.
Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team
Skills / Attributes Required for Oracle DBA
Proven Oracle Database Administration experience.
Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems
Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service.
Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
Oracle Certification, preferably OCP- Nice to have

Responsible for supporting the SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high resilience and performance tuning.
To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime (both SQL Server and Oracle interface).
Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL and Oracle development.
Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs.
Skills / Attributes Required for SQL Server DBA
In depth SQL Server Database Administration experience
Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2000 and 2005 RDBMS on large systems
Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects
Experience Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
Experience of Transactional SQL, and DTS stored procedures.
Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security
