Description: One of SGAs clients is seeking a Commodity Trading and Risk Management Project Manager for a full time position that will report into offices in either Westport, CT or Houston, TX but can live anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Heavy travel, however, is required. Our client is the leader in trading, risk management, scheduling and logistics solutions for commodities including power, oil, gas, coal, metals, agricultural products and freight. Client profitably integrates physical and financial markets from the front-to-back office for all commodities on a real-time next-generation platform. Our clients award-winning solutions are used by more than 25 percent of both Global 500 commodity trading companies and Global 500 energy companies. The successful Project Manager candidate will join our clients regional team and gain exposure to many aspects of the Energy Trading Industry while implementing our clients Commodity Trading & Risk Management (CTRM) software systems. Project managers work closely with actual clients and internal staff with the following responsibilities. Responsibilities: Derive, update and Manage Project Plan(s) Derive, update and Manage Project Budget(s) Manage/Coordinate the Daily Activities of Customer Engagements (and internal projects as necessary) Provide Periodic Project Status reports internally and to Customers Lead efforts to provide on & off-site CTRM Software Modeling, Configuration, Data Entry, Training, Testing & Support Lead efforts to provide Business Analysis Services including: Requirements Gathering, Gap Analysis & Functional Design Specification Lead efforts to Create/Compile software, client and/or industry specific documentation Lead efforts to provide Issue/Resolution Tracking, and liaise between client and departments including: Engineering, Quality Assurance, Delivery Services, Technical Support, Account Management Provide other Delivery Services Consultants with mentoring and direction when working together on client and internal projects Provide training to internal client staff on software, client and/or industry specific concepts Contribute to on-going process improvements within the Delivery Services Americas organization Qualifications: 3+ Years of experience managing Commodity Trading & Risk Management Software system implementations. 3+ Years of direct experience in 1 or more of the following industries: Power, Natural Gas, Oil, Coal, Emissions, Freight, Metals, or Agricultural Commodities Trading Strong Project Management Skills Strong Analytical, Problem Solving and Presentation skills Proficient in the entire MS Office suite of software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Project, Power Point Access) Excellent written and oral communication skills Often engagements are outside of the Project Managers home office, and as such the Project Manager needs to be prepared for potential travel of 75+%, if projects so dictate Candidate must be capable of working with minimum supervision and consistently delivering against expectations Candidate must be a team player and be ready to contribute to activities outside his/her direct area of responsibility as and when required to do so Management consultant experience is a plus A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or other Business related areas of study Technical Skills a plus SGA is a Certified Womans Business Enterprise (WBE) celebrating over thirty years of service to our national client base.
