Requirements:
The candidate will have experience with overall support and operational
issues related to the environment: Understanding of basic system
configuration and problem resolution techniques; Advanced problem solving
skills as a core competency; Ability to trouble-shoot and resolve common
problems with desktop network file access, network printing and other
network-based services; Ability to install, trouble-shoot and resolve
problems with all types of internal hardware as well as laboratory
peripheral equipment installation and configuration; Understanding of the
technologies and issues surrounding mobile computing; Understanding of
Network services that support desktop and laboratory systems such as
understanding of desktop protocol specific diagnostic tools in desktop
communications protocols such as TCP/IP; Detailed knowledge of the software
installation process and how a computer is changed by it; Comprehensive
understanding of supplemental system oriented services and add-on products
that provide services such as virus protection; Comprehensive understanding
of client side protocol configuration options; Ability to work effectively
with all customers/vendors outside and within the department; Demonstrate
strong communication skills in with a variety of customers; Demonstrate
sound judgment and effectively solve or initiate the resolution of all
