A senior desktop engineer, responsible for the engineering and third level
support for scientific and desktop applications and a variety of desktop
hardware components.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The senior desktop engineer is responsible for the engineering and third
level support for scientific and desktop applications and a variety of
desktop hardware components. Responsible for upgrading or modify desktop and
benchtop applications as well as participating in projects that affect the
desktop and benchtop environment. Responsible for helping maintain a stable,
standard desktop and benchtop environment by establishing, following and
maintaining a consistent desktop certification and documentation process.

Minimum of 6 years in a lead desktop engineering and support role; strong
technical knowledge of desktop hardware and peripherals, Windows NT 4.0,
2000 and XP operating systems understanding the registry from inside out,
desktop utility, management and scripting tools; excellent technical and
process knowledge of desktop image development, testing, deployment and
updates; strong knowledge of networks and client/server technology; solid
technology leadership skills. Must be able to solve complex problems with
very little assistance. Must possess excellent communication (oral and
written) and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal/organizational
skills, the ability to meet deadlines, work in a team environment, follow
written policies/procedures, experience with project management, maintain
superior customer service at all times with all users. Desired skills: GxP
and 21 CFR Part 11 work experience, in depth knowledge of Ghosting, Wise
scripting or similar. SMS knowledge is a plus.
