appriciate it.

Ritt

As far as I know they went out of business. I tried to go by their place in
Portland a couple of weeks ago and the place was all closed up.

They went out of business along with aviator ales they were in
business together and aviator faulted on their loan and drug norwester
down with them. Another brewer is going to keep brewing norwester but
I can't think who it is. Does anyone else know?

Nor'wester and their associated breweries - Aviator, Mile High, etc.-
were built on a financial 'house of cards'. Jim Bernau, the prexy and
founder, tried to bail the whole thing out by arranging a merger with
the brewers of Kingfisher, a brewing concern from India. The merger was
approved by shareholders but fell apart about a week before the deal was
set to close. The Indian backed out because the financial condition of
Nor'wester and associated breweries was basically hopeless.

The Nor'wester brand is now being produced by Saxer Brewing in the
Portland area.

The Nor'wester brand was bought out by Saxer in Oregon. All of the
rest of the above is true as well.
