My sister bought the 2 gallon one for me two years ago for Christmas. While
the directions are simple and easy to follow, the beer does not turn out half
as good as real homebrew. Do yourself a favor and go buy "The New Complete
Joy of Homebrewing" by Charle Papazian or "The Complete Handbook of
Homebrewing" by Dave Miller (preferably both!). You'll make much better
beers.

cheers,
mikey.

I have the pilot bewer. I made one batch that didn't turn out so great, but
that was because I bottled it too early. I'm trying again soon... I would say
that it's a good start point, but I want to try a lot of things, and not be
restricted to just Mr. Beer products.

Don't waste your money. Spend a few extra bucks and get a real kit from
a home brew supply store.
