There are two types of Kalik available. One is the regular "Silver Label"
sold most everywhere in Nassau. The other, highly recommended by the locals,
is the "Gold Label". You'll find this one *much* more tastefull than the
silver label. The locals do not drink the silver label. You'll find the
Gold Label Kalik at a couple of the package stores on the main drag near the
port. Just ask!! The Gold Label definitely has a kick to it and tastes
*nothing* like a Corona, microwaved or not........

My brother has returned from a vacation in the Bahamas, only to present me
with a Kalik T-Shirt! Never tasted the beer, though...

I went to the Bahamas for 2 weeks a couple years ago and ordered a Kalik in
a restraunt. It was the last one they had and I couldn't get another one
anywhere on the island for the entire time I was there! Appearently, it was
a very popular export at the time so it was hard to get locally.

Well, my brother-in-law came home with a Kalik tee-shirt 2 years
later for me. I still keep my eye out for the stuff.

Dan

B.T.W. The waitress told me the beer was named for the sound a cows
bell makes.

Dan,
That's the best news I've had since breakfast.
I don't remember if I had the gold label or not. I tried it at several locations
on Freeport, so to be sure each time that it was not the fault of the place it was
purchased from, but the consistency of taste was annoying.
Anyways, If I get the chance I will try again, remembering the label.
Oh, yeah, DEX,
remember to take off the metal cap before putting beer in the micro.

Berch.
