As an Aussie studying in New England, I am disappointed in general with
American beers (Sam Adams isn't too bad though). Fosters is sold here but
a friend who works for C&UB back home in Oz tells me that it is actually
Crown lager I'm drinking, not true Fosters like back home. At any rate, I
would like to know if Victoria Bitter is available here. I've searched a
couple of grog shops in Boston to no avail. XXXX is available but I refuse
to drink a Queenslander's beer. What about Tooheys? Melbourne Bitter?
Anyone...please...help!!

Bite your bum, Alex. I'd say it serves you right for going to New England
in America when there's a perfectly good New England in NSW....
I will be drinking the odd VB and Tooheys Draft out of the king brown
myself over christmas - dreaming of a (Californian) Anchor Xmas 94 - and
wishing I could get my lips around one. As they say the grass is always
greener....
Anyway its cheered me up no end to read your sad post and the cold kingie
of VB will now taste much better as I sit on my verandah watching our team
smack the poms all over field in the next test, knowing that you are
freezing your arse off drinking mega swill.
Still, cheer up. Think of all the roots you'll get when you come home with
a Yale tie.
