Did anyone get a chance to check out the Boston Beer Festival on May 18th?
I'd be interested in hearing your comments.

Yeah, I went. It was smaller than last year in terms of booths, and I
didn't see any homebrew suppliers there. Still a good time, though.
They also had the toilet situation MUCH better planned than last year
(The lines last year were incredible).

I was disappointed that several brewers who were very popular in the
past didn't show, including a couple of local notables. But, on the
other hand, there was a meadery there (And since I had never tried mead
before, I just had to visit --- loved it!), and a few cider booths.
Served to broaden the horizons, I guess.

Cheers!

Yes indeed, the biggest improvement was in the venue. The Bayside Expo folks
made it easier to get in and easier to GO once you got in. Aside from that
the experience was similar to years past.

One sour note: the advertised end time for the first session was 5:00. The
gestapo ordered the taps shut down at 4:50! Isn't 3 hours enough to prepare
for the next session?!

I was pleased and surprised to see how many new local brewpubs were there.
Some had only been in business a matter of weeks.
