>How many 12 oz beers are there in a keg (1/2 keg) How about pony kegs
>(1/4kegs)...
1/2 keg equals about 7 cases of beer. 1/4 are half of that. Do the math.....

7 * 24 beerz = 168 in a half keg
Divided by 2 = 84 beers in a quarter keg
That seems about right.
There are around 160 beers in a keg (200 oz.) I think there are about 80
beers in quarter barrell (pony keg). Drink lots of them.

Holts of Manchester still use Hogsheads !
The only brewers in the UK as far as I am aware.
British barrel sizes:
For un-pressurised containers (for ales) i.e. casks:
(20floz = 1 Imperial Pint)
8 Imperial Pints = 1 Gallon
4 1/2 Gallons = 1 Pin
2 Pins = 1 Firkin (9 Gallons)
2 Firkins = 1 Kilderkin (18 Gallons)
2 Kilderkins = 1 Barrel (36 Gallons)
1 1/2 Barrels = 1 Hogshead (54 Gallons)
2 Barrels = 1 Puncheon (72 Gallons)
3 Barrels = 1 Butt (108 Gallons)
For wholesale supply of traditional ale, only pins (occasionally),
firkins, kilderkins and barrels are used. I would doubt if any UK
brewers are stil using Hogsheads!
(Scottish & Newcastle and some other brewers use 11 & 22 gallon
casks as opposed to Firkins and Kils.)
As for pressurised containers (for ersatz lagers and stouts) i.e. kegs:
Generally kegs come in 11, 22 and 36 gallon volumes.
Some brewers use 10 gallon kegs, and low-alcohol products such as
Tennents LA (<1% alc by vol) come in 30 litre kegs (approx 6.5 gal)
Hope this helps!

Holts brewery in Manchester use them. One of their pubs in
central Manchester, the łOld Monkey˛ gets through 4 a day!
thatąs 1728 pints. Is it something to do with it costing
less than a pound a pint? ;-)
