Online Networking Exposition and BBS Convention

======================================================================

Over a thousand BBS enthusiasts attended ONE BBSCON '92 in Denver last
August - by all accounts the most successful face-to-face gathering of BBS
operators, Internet users, commercial service providers, and other
BBS/networking aficionados ever held. Over a hundred educational sessions
were presented during the three-day event. This has become the largest
show focused on electronic bulletin boards and online services in the world.

Approximately 2000 attendees are expected at the 1993 ONE BBSCON as well as
over 130 vendors displaying modems, BBS software and utilities,
CD-ROMs, and other tools to make PCs talk in the night.

The '93 event is designed to take advantage of the Colorado Rocky Mountain
environment at its most beautiful. Located at the base of Pike's Peak, The
Broadmoor Hotel is one of the top resort hotels in the country, featuring
over 100,000 square feet of meeting space and 36 meeting rooms along with
eight different restuarants.

Sessions will again be designed in topical tracks such as Running an Online
Service for Profit, Legal Issues Online, Social and Community Issues Online,
BBS Software, The Internet, as well as a series of mini-symposiums presented
by the developers of various BBS systems for operators who use their software.
The result will again be one of the most ambitious schedules of educational
sessions ever planned for a convention of this type. Most conventions feature
eight or ten educational sessions. At ONE BBSCON, that happens EVERY HOUR.

Our Keynote Speaker for ONE BBSCON '93 is Mr. Jim Warren, founder of
West Coast Computer Faires, Infoworld, Dr. Dobbs Journal, the Computer
Chronicles television program, and currently a columnist for Microtimes
Magazine and Board of Directors for Autodesk. Most notably, Mr. Warren
has taken a leading role in campaigning for public electronic access to
public information in government.

HOW TO MAKE MONEY WITH A BBS-The most attended session from ONE BBSCON92 is
back by popular demand. Jack Rickard and Phil Becker with frank talk on
what works, what doesn't, and why - gleaned from their contacts with
hundreds of successful, professional BBS operators. How to handle credit
cards, promote your system, develop a theme, and take the steps to turn
your hobby into a more profitable enterprise - and possibly even a business.

DVORAK AWARDS
Noted columnist John C. Dvorak and modem manufacturer Zoom Telephonics
have again teamed up to present a series of Technical Excellence in
Communications Awards to many of the BBS industry pioneers. Last year's
awardees included Ward Christensen - author of the first BBS program and
the XMODEM file transfer protocol, Chuck Forsberg, author of ZMODEM, and
Phil Katz, author of the PKZIP file compression utility.

A NATIONAL BBS OPERATORS ASSOCIATION - IS IT TIME? Mike Godwin of EFF
and Lance Rose, author of SYSLAW, kick off a session to explore the
possibility of a national BBS operators organization to represent the
BBS community in Washington. Follow-on sessions provisionally planned to
nail down what it will be, how it will work, and what it's mission will be.

If it happens at ONE BBSCON 93, you won't want to miss the start.

present information about the future of ISDN, followed by presentations
from Northern Telecom and AT&T showing real applications and solutions.

what it means, how to connect YOUR BBS at various levels. From a top
level roundtable discussion on the future of NREN and the Internet,
right down to how to get individual BBS software packages connected to
the network to do for global electronic mail. With some exciting
