First off, let me say: Has much changed on Theme - ing Synchronet's
Web Templates from: http://synchwebthemes.synchsupport.net/ ?? Is it
worth it at this point to start developing templates (on a large
scale) or is there someone actively developing templates on a 'daily
basis'...I've read about some individuals who have been doing them,
but not sure if they still are...

That said, I am going to take a shot a doing some theme
modifications...I know they're not exactly 'structured' in the best
possible way (folder structured) BUT, I am sure that can be resolved
by the synchronet developer team over time...Anyway, I have been
washed away by the two themes in the default package. (( Default &
Nightshade )) In my opinion they both can be really spiced up.

Also, If you happen to be (or were) a template designer for synchronet
bbs, please post how you are going about it..Ex: Do you add flash to
it, javascript, just html / css. Just curious as I am no expert at any
of the template designing, BUT I DO have knowledge about all of it, so
it's just a matter of whether I should start on a project like this or
not...Or is this a project that doesn't matter how many developers are
out there, you need more. I am going to start today on template
designing regardless as I see a need for better templates...I am not
promising anything, but...

WISH ME LUCK, I WANT TO TRY AND MAKE SOME KICK ASS TEMPLATES!

Not really. I've done some more work, as has Time Warrior I think, but nothing
really to show for it as yet. Noone is doing it on a daily basis though. Just
a bit here and there and I don't know jack about what I'm doing. Not really
anyway. Anyway, the 'official' SyncDev forums are carried by Xpresit Network.
If anything to note happens its usually mentioned there.

When I started I knew exactly zip about coding html. What I have put out so
far is a half ass solution, but it worked. As far as code goes, if you were to
view the source, you could probably spot my incremental improvements as I
learned. But I ran into alot of the problems you have mentioned in other
threads and since I knew little about html my solution was to not use the
structure that exists, in that it uses multiple .inc files to create one page.
Each page is individually coded for it's purpose (which represents alot of
repeat code) using standard HTML/CSS, @@ control codes, and existing javascript
routines. And installation-wise what I did (using the .bat installer) assumes
the identity of the 'default' template folder...I did that for multiple reasons
that I won't go through here. But what I have done actually looks decent, but
code wise it's nothing to brag about. It sounds like you are vastly more
qualified than me.

I have been working with Time Warrior's Cerberus themeset, cleaning up some of
his code (so far everything I've done since working with his themeset is w3c
compliant), and trying to integrate new templates to choose from. But I've
been trying to do it more or less 'right' so it's a bit harder than what I was
doing before.
